Building on the strong institutional linkages established by Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor, BNBWU, the University participated in World Breastfeeding Week 2026, jointly organized by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Larkana, and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) under European Union initiatives on 06 August 2026. The conference brought together academia, healthcare institutions, government, and development partners to advance coordinated action for maternal and child health.

Representing BNBWU, Dr. Nabiha Ghaffar, Lecturer, Department of Human & Rehabilitation Sciences, served as Session Chair and delivered the discussion, reflections, and summary remarks, while BNBWU students gained valuable academic and professional exposure. The conference culminated in the Larkana Breastfeeding Action Declaration 2026, reaffirming collective commitment to breastfeeding support, research, awareness, and healthier

The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU), Sukkur participated in the four-day Regional Islam & International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Course. In continuation of the efforts of Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor BNBWU, to strengthen faculty capacity and provide meaningful academic exposure, BNBWU faculty members gained valuable insights through expert-led discussions, case studies and exchange of perspectives on the shared humanitarian principles of International Humanitarian Law and the Islamic Law of Siyar. Bringing together around 30 professors of Islamic Studies from across Pakistan, including Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the course provided a significant platform to explore the common values of humanity, dignity and protection at the heart of both traditions.

In continuation of the efforts of Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor, The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU), Sukkur, to strengthen industry-academia linkages and promote sustainability-driven innovation, BNBWU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CREECO Pvt. Ltd. ISB, signed by Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor BNBWU, and Mr. Muhammad Siddique, CEO, CREECO Pvt. Ltd. The collaboration will advance applied research, climate-smart technologies, renewable energy, biodiversity conservation and student engagement, while exploring the development of a Climate and Biodiversity Innovation Park and innovative solutions in waste-to-energy, biomass, biogas, biochar and carbon sequestration, further strengthening BNBWUโ€™s commitment to green innovation and sustainable development.
