The Department of Law, University of Swabi successfully conducted its four-day Moot Court Competition, which concluded on Thursday, 21 May 2026. The Grand Finale showcased outstanding advocacy, legal reasoning, and courtroom skills by the law students, earning immense appreciation from the distinguished guests and audience.
The event also featured an insightful panel discussion on “Navigational Rights and the International Legal Regime Governing Straits under UNCLOS: A Case Study of the Strait of Hormuz,” focusing on contemporary legal and geopolitical issues relating to international maritime law and global trade routes.
The honourable guests included Prof. Dr. Sami Ur Rehman, Dean of Law Programs, IVY Academic Network, who presided as Chief Judge and Panelist; Assistant Professor Muhammad Aqeel Khan, Senior Law faculty at AWKUM, who served as Judge and Panelist; and Mr. Attaullah Khan, Prominent Political and Social Activist, who participated as Panelist. The Head of Department, Assistant Professor Sultan Sheharyar, acted as host and moderator for the event.
The worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mian Sayyed Khan, and the honourable Dean of Arts & Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nasim Ullah Qureshi, appreciated the efforts of the Head of Department, faculty members, organisers, and students for arranging such a remarkable and intellectually enriching activity. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to the participants in recognition of their dedication and performance.
