Sindh Agriculture University, (Sindhi: سنڌ زرعي يونيورسٽي ٽنڊو ڄام ) is situated in Tando Jam town at 18 km from Hyderabad, on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas road and is about 200 km from Karachi airport linked with super highway to Hyderabad. Sindh Agriculture University is presently ranked 4th best university in Agriculture by HEC [1]
The university is an academic complex of five faculties, two centres, one constituent college and Directorate of Advanced Studies and Research. The five faculties are Faculty of Crop Production, Faculty of Crop Protection, Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences. Three graduate degree programmes are offered in the five faculties majoring in almost 36 departments. These include the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M), Bachelor of Engineering in Agriculture (B.E.Agriculture) and Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) Honours. The University offers postgraduate programmes leading to the award of M.Sc, degree in Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Agricultural Engineering and in all the above mentioned disciplines of Agriculture. M.Phil and Ph.D degree programmes are also offered in selected subject areas where trained staff and other facilities are available. As well, a modest number of short courses and training programmes are regularly offered to meet the continuing and in service education needs of Agriculture Officers, Field Assistants, Bank Officials, Agricultural Technicians, Progressive Farmers, Small Farmers, Tenants, Gardeners, Housewives and other clientele groups. The total area covered by the University is 416.66 acres (1.6862 km2) including an area of more than 80 acres occupied by residential and non-residential buildings of the University, Agricultural Research Institute, Nuclear Institute of Agriculture, Rural Academy, Agricultural Engineering Workshop, Drainage Research Centre, and Central Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. Tandojam (Press Release) The two-day International Humanitarian Technology Conference hosted by Sindh Agriculture University has concluded, National and International experts have recommended to ensure the implementation of technology in agriculture, including precision agriculture, artificial intelligence, chat GPT, while conference proposed to prepare a research agenda for the country's agricultural development and organize the Region-Ten Humanitarian Conference at the Sindh Agriculture University.

The closing ceremony of two-day international humanitarian technology conference was held at main Auditorium Hall, on Tuesday, hosted by the Information Technology Center, Sindh Agriculture University, in collaboration with Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Karachi Section and the Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC)

Addressing at the closing ceremony Former Chairman of Pakistan Engineering Council Engr. Abdul Qadir Shah said that industry is not a substitute for agriculture, while economic problems have arisen due to lack of importance to agricultural sector, “the recommendations of this conference should not be ignored, and rather the government should include these recommendations in the policy.” He added.

The Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University, Dr. Fateh Marri said that it is essential to introduce technology based modern sciences for the development of the country and agriculture, therefore, a research agenda for agricultural development should be prepared at educational institutions and Masters and PhD students should focus on the agenda,

He said that working partnership involving all stakeholders including IEEE, Sindh HEC, IOBM, and universities should be promoted in this conference.

IEEE Karachi Section Head Prof. Dr. Bhawani Shankar Chaudhry said that problems in people's lives have increased due to climate change, melting of glaciers and food security issues, so we need to imply modern technology including IOT, precision agriculture, and artificial intelligence, to improve the economy and productivity of the Agriculture.

Director of ITC Dr. Mir Sajjad Talpur and Dr. Muhammad Yaqoob Koondhar also addressed the conference, while shields were awarded to the local and foreign participants of the conference.

During this conference, 139 research papers were presented by different experts of different fields from around the world including Asia, Africa, America and Europe, while a large number of experts from different countries including Pakistan's universities participated in the conference.
