International Workers’ Day

On Friday, 1st May 2026, a ceremony was held at Government Degree College under the chairmanship of Principal Professor Qaisar Ahmad, with active participation from students and faculty.

Students presented speeches and poems in Urdu, Pashto, and English. Naseem Ullah, Mehran Khan, and Hamza Shahab delivered speeches, while Asad-ur-Rehman, Tahseen Khan, and Ubaid Ullah recited poems. Professor Abdul Sattar Asfar also shared a beautiful poem on workers.

Professor Siraj Ahmad, the keynote speaker, highlighted the significance of Labour Day and the dignity of labour. The Principal shared a meaningful story and advised students to value their time.

The ceremony concluded with prize distribution among position holders and a prayer.

Mr. Hazrat Bilal was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/- by Principal Prof. Qaisar Ahmad in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement. Hazrat Bilal, a distinguished student of the BS Computer Science Department, secured 1st position (Gold Medal) at the University of Malakand level among all affiliated colleges.

College Roof Treatment

The rooftop of the college classrooms was damaged, causing rainwater to remain stagnant and damage the structure. Proper roof treatment and repairs were carried out, including sealing cracks and improving drainage through concrete. As a result, rainwater will now flow properly, preventing further damage to the college building.

College Update | Science Laboratories

Principal Prof. Qaisar Ahmad, has initiated a comprehensive upgradation of all Science Laboratories in the college. The Physics Lab development work is in progress. Labs wooden experiment-tables have been painted. Besides minor electric repair work, a fixed multimedia and new AC/DC Power Supply have been installed to facilitate students in Inter/BS-level laboratory work.
These measures aim to enhance practical learning facilities and academic standards.
