A Fire Safety and Emergency Response Drill was successfully arranged today on September 1st, 2026 at the Elementary College of Education M/W Umerkot with the support of Sindh Emergency Service (Rescue-1122) District Umerkot . The awareness and practical training sessions were attended by the college management, attached school' management, college faculty and staff, teachers and students of B.Ed (Hons).
The sessions focused on
1. Introduction to the different parts and functions of fire Extinguishers.
2. Essential fire safety measures and emergency response protocols
3. Practical and comprehensive demonstration of fire extinguishers
4. Use and importance of fire alarms and fire balls
5. Hands-on participation and emergency response practice. The practical demonstrations were carried out by the faculty, staff and students in the Social Area, providing participants with valuable hands-on experience in responding to fire emergencies. Mr. Nihalchand , Principal of the College, expressed his gratitude to Sindh Emergency Service 1122 for conducting such an informative and productive training. He appreciated the Rescue-1122 team for helping create greater awareness among the college community about fire prevention, safety protocols and emergency preparedness. The activity was an important step towards fostering a culture of safety, preparedness and responsible emergency response among students, faculty and staff.
