Important Admission Update | Fall 2026

The deadline for admission to Self-Support Programs (Fall 2026) has been extended until 30 August 2026.

Four new programs have also been added to the previously advertised disciplines:

• BS History
• BS Botany
• BS Biotechnology
• BS Bioinformatics

Applicants are advised to complete their admission process before the extended deadline.

Vice Chancellor Reviews Academic and Administrative Arrangements ahead of Fall 2026 Semester

Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Vice Chancellor, Quaid-i-Azam University, chaired a meeting of the Deans, Chairpersons, and Directors to review key academic and administrative matters. The meeting was also attended by the Additional Registrar, Principal Officers, and senior administrative officials. The meeting reviewed preparations for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester, which is scheduled to commence on September 7, 2026.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Chairpersons, faculty members, and supporting staff for their contributions to the successful admissions campaign.

He lauded the Chairpersons and Directors for their efforts in effectively projecting their academic programs. Due to which QAU received excellent response from candidates higher than the previous year.

He urged the departments to extend full support to the administrative offices in concluding the admissions process and ensuring a smooth commencement of academic activities. He emphasized that maintaining discipline would remain a priority in order to foster a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the departments that had undertaken a comprehensive review of their academic programmes and introduced new programmes in emerging disciplines aligned with evolving market needs. He encouraged the departments to continue reviewing and strengthening their academic offerings to equip students with relevant knowledge and skills for future opportunities.

QAU and SMIU Sign MoU to Strengthen Academic Cooperation

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, and Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU), Karachi, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic cooperation and promote collaborative initiatives.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Vice Chancellor, QAU, and Prof. Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon, Vice Chancellor, SMIU. The agreement aims to foster collaboration in research, technical cooperation, continuing education, and community services.

Under the agreement, the two universities will explore opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, joint academic and research activities, conferences and seminars, and sharing of academic materials and research publications. Trainers’ Workshop Held at QAU for ‘Each One Teach One’ Initiative

The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, organised a trainers’ workshop at Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) as part of the “Each One Teach One” (EOTO) initiative. The EOTO is a nationwide, student-driven literacy programme aimed at promoting literacy and encouraging individuals to contribute to the education of others by teaching at least one person.

Syed Akbar Ali, Director, NCHD, and Mr. Tahir Zubair, Deputy Director, NCHD, delivered presentations during the workshop and briefed the participants about the objectives, methodology and implementation of the EOTO initiative. University faculty members participated in the training workshop with the objective of becoming trainers who will subsequently impart training to other students and teachers.

Dr. Salma Malik, Director External Linkages and Focal Person for the “Each One Teach One” initiative at QAU, and Prof. Dr. Amir Ali, Director Academics, also attended the workshop.
