The Department of Environmental Sciences at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Vehari Campus, hosted a successful PhD pre-defense seminar for research scholar Mr. Sajjad Hussain (Registration No: CIIT/SP23-PES-018/VHR).
Mr. Hussain presented his doctoral research titled:
" *Modeling Approaches to Optimize Nitrogen Use in Maize Cultivars under Integrated Application of Synthetic Fertilizer and Bacterial Based Biofertilisers"*
Under the supervision of Dr. Saeed Ahmad Qaisrani,(Associate Professor) Mr. Hussain demonstrated advance modeling techniques aimed at integrating conventional NPK synthetic fertilizers with bacterial-based biofertilizers. The study highlights vital strategies to improve nitrogen-use efficiency, boost crop yield, and foster sustainable agricultural practices.
The smooth organization and high academic standard of the pre-defense seminar were made possible under the inspiring leadership of *Prof. Dr. Faiz Rabbani.* His encouragement and administrative guidance continue to motivate both faculty members and post-graduate students toward excellence in research.
The seminar concluded with an interactive session where faculty and research scholars commended the scholar's methodology and practical applications. The successful presentation marks an important milestone toward the final award of Mr. Hussain's PhD degree.
