Twenty doctoral candidates from the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of TUL have received funding under the STER NAWA programme to carry out international research placements during the 2026/2027 academic year. 🎓

From Japan and Canada to Italy, Spain and the United States, young researchers will collaborate with leading universities and research centres, develop their doctoral projects and gain valuable international experience. 🔬

These mobility opportunities strengthen global research partnerships, support scientific excellence and help our doctoral candidates grow as members of the international academic community. ✈️🤝

📢 Registration is now open for the international conference “Towards a Joint European Degree: Perspectives from across the ECIU Alliance”!

The conference will focus on the European Degree initiative, its significance for European higher education institutions, and the practical aspects of its implementation. The programme will also cover joint and double degree programmes, flexible learning pathways and the European Label for Micro-credentials, as well as insights from the project.

⚙️ A major investment in the future of energy research is underway at Lodz University of Technology.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has launched the “Energy Science Boiler” project – a new interdisciplinary research and technology centre designed to support innovation in the energy sector. 🔬

With nearly PLN 15.8 million in funding, the project will expand research capabilities in areas such as advanced materials, metal 3D printing, surface engineering and renewable energy technologies. 🌱

The new infrastructure will bring together researchers, industry experts and business partners to develop solutions that improve energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact and support the ongoing energy transition. 🤝

🎓 Lodz University of Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with the Information Processing Centre – National Research Institute (OPI PIB) to implement the “PraktykOn” diploma project programme. 🤝

The initiative will give TUL students the opportunity to develop their diploma theses in collaboration with OPI experts, working on real challenges in areas such as artificial intelligence, data analysis, telecommunications and computer science. 💻

By combining academic expertise with practical experience, the programme will help students build valuable skills, gain access to advanced research tools and datasets, and prepare for successful careers in the technology and research sectors. 🚀

🧪 For one week, Lodz University of Technology became a meeting point for the world of modern organic chemistry.

From 5 to 10 July, nearly 300 researchers from 27 countries gathered at Alchemium for the 24th International Conference on Organic Synthesis (24-ICOS), one of the leading international events in the field, held under the auspices of IUPAC. 🌍

The programme featured inspiring lectures, scientific discussions and poster sessions covering the latest advances in organic synthesis — from catalysis and medicinal chemistry to functional materials and nanomaterials.

A special highlight was the opening lecture by Nobel Laureate Professor Susumu Kitagawa, who also met with participants during the conference reception. 🏆

The conference brought together leading scientists, experienced researchers and early-career scientists, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, new connections and future international collaborations. 🤝

With €7.2 million in Erasmus+ funding, the Alliance will launch its next phase in November 2026, continuing to shape the future of higher education across Europe.

Together with our ECIU partners, Lodz University of Technology will help further develop flexible learning pathways, strengthen the digital campus, expand mobility opportunities and foster closer collaboration with students, researchers and external partners. 🌍

With a grant of 7.2 million euros received, ECIU University will begin its next phase in November 2026. 11 universities are set to continue building the digital campus and pursuing innovation in higher education for the next 2 years.
