In the magical atmosphere of Christmas December, the Institute of Modern Languages became a place for an extraordinary meeting of cultures and hearts. On December 15, the walls of Auditorium Maximum were filled with the sounds of carols performed by our diverse academic community for another year in a row. The Faculty Caroling program showed a beautiful marriage of Polish regionality with traditions from the world - from traditional Polish carols, through Spanish villancicos and Catalan songs, to American Christmas carols - creating a real mosaic of Christmas traditions.
This carol meeting in the pre-Christmas time reminded us that the most beautiful things are created in the community. In the age of the ubiquitous "me", it is worth remembering that the academic ethos has been based for centuries on mutual respect, exchange of ideas and the common search for truth. It does not cross out individual ambitions or market rules - on the contrary, it gives them a deeper meaning and a more solid foundation. Success built on relationships based on respect is more durable and brings greater satisfaction.
On the occasion of the upcoming holidays, we wish you the joy of small and great discoveries - scientific and completely personal. May 2026 bring you exciting projects that will trigger your imagination, meetings with people who will inspire you to act, and moments of respite when you can enjoy the results of your work.
We wish you health, energy and a sense of meaning in what you do every day. And when the road gets longer - may you not lack good company, a sense of humor and the belief that it is worth going further.
