Another summer and another summer camp organized by our university for students from our partner university, Wuhan Sports University. Numerous scientific lectures, sports activities, and an interesting cultural program allowed students not only to deepen their knowledge of physical culture and health in an international context, but also to broaden their horizons and gain invaluable multicultural experiences. Our guests from China visited the Tri-City, including St. Mary's Basilica, the Amber Museum, the Museum of World War II, the Sopot pier, and ORP Błyskawica. The next summer camp will be held next year. 🏀🏃‍♂️😄

AWFalia 2025 - annual higher education students' holiday at our Universty celebrated in May, before the summer exam session. Students do not have classes at that time (2 days). These two days are filled with concerts, parties, sports events. Pure fun and joy. We are already looking forward to the next AWFalia 2026!

The world championship is getting closer and closer! ..:: ⛵🇵🇱
Tri-City hosted World Sailing President Quanhai Li, who, together with Tomasz Chamera - World Sailing Vice President and AWFiS academician - met with representatives of sports organizations, authorities and the sailing community.
The visit was related to preparations for the 2027 Olympic Class World Championships, which will be held in Gdynia - the biggest sailing event in the history of Poland!

🎾 Sara Twardowska - runner-up in the Australian Open Deaf and Hard of Hearing Championship! 🏆
Our second year student (major: sport management) has won silver in doubles play at a prestigious tournament in Melbourne. The Polish tennis player and her partner, Heike Albrecht-Schroeder, seeded number two, won the runner-up spot after winning two matches and losing one in the group system.
In the singles competition, Sara finished fifth, beating Isabel Cairns of Australia and Yeva Flierko of Ukraine, among others.
We congratulate Sara on this exceptional success and keep our fingers crossed for the next tournaments! 👏💪

Marry Christmas!
Christmas Meeting 2024 organized for international students was an excellent opportunity for students to make new, international acquaintances, to find out more about our unique Polish Christams traditions, decorate the Christmas tree with handmade ornaments, listen to the Polish Christmas carols and taste Polish traditional Christmas Eve dishes such as borscht and dumplings. The atmosphere was full of positive energy, which made the evening an unforgettable experience.”

Sport Club AZS AWFiS Gdansk and AZS invite you to a unique event - the Academic Sports Day! This is a 24-hour marathon, which will take place on October 15-16, 2024. Participation is completely free of charge!

The Opening Ceremony of Academic Year 2024/2025 will be held on 2 October 2024 at 12.00. The ceremony will be led by Rector of the University, Prof. Pawel Cieszczyk. The inaugural speech titled: “Low intensity syndrome in the modern training process” will be delivered by Doctor Honoris Causa Professor Jan Chmura. The ceremony will take place in Blanik Sports Hall (1 Kazimierza Gorskiego Street, 80-336 Gdansk). Join US!

The academic staff and students from our partner University - Sport Wuhan University - participated in our summer science camp 2024! It was the third edition of our science camp. Participants of the camp have had a chance to take part in many lectures, sport activities and attractions. We are looking forward to the summer camp 2025. 🏀🤸😃

Did you know that our University tops the ranking Perspektywy 2024 in the internationalization category among other Universities of Physical Education in Poland! According to the ranking data, we have the largest amount of foreign students studying at our University of Physical Education and Sport. Moreover, we have the highest multiculturalism indicator of the academic community. Our international students come from more than 20 different countries, such as: China, Ukraine, Turkey, Belarus, India, Sri Lanka, the United States, France, Morocco, Croatia, Tunisia, Algeria, Pakistan, Lithuania, Latvia. Our University has also the honor to praise for the highest saturation of academic staff from abroad and the highest ICI index, showing the number of citations received by publications that have a foreign co-author.
