Proudly, we present you the next of our SELS Speakers.
Jarosław Wałęsa is a Polish politician and Member of European Parliament. He was elected to the Sejm. He is the son of former Polish President, L**h Wałęsa.

Wałęsa is a 1995 graduate of Glastonbury High School, Connecticut, where he spent his high school years as a foreign exchange student. He then attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Former member of the Committee on Fisheries and the Vice-Coordinator of the Committee on Petitions, member of the Delegation to the EU- Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee and deputy member of the International Trade Committee and a member of the Delegation for Relations with Japan, a Substitute member of the Committee on International Trade, a Delegation for relations with the countries of Central America, and a Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly.

We have pleasure to introduce our next SELS speaker - Mateusz Gierczak.
He graduated from Law and Administration Faculty of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He is a member of ELSA Trainers’ Group and Seniors ELSA Poland. He used to lecture among others in Okręgowa Izba Radców Prawnych in Bydgoszcz. He teaches Negotiation and Mediation in Business Faculty at Wyższa Szkoła Bankowa in Toruń and at Wyższa Szkoła Pedagogiki i Administracji im. Mieszka I in Poznań. Since 2013 Mateusz is a profesional mediator and negotiator and since 2016 he runs his own office named Kancelaria Mediacyjna Mateusz Gierczak in Poznań.

We present you our next, amazing Lecturer!

Łukasz Walewski - he’s CEO of „PR Walewski - PR agency specializing in Law Firms segment. He’s former journalist with over 12 years of experience in tv, radio, press (Trojka, Radio ZET, TVN24 Lodz, Radio Lodz, CADENA SER), publicist and lecturer specialised in interpersonal communication and business etiquette. He also works as diplomatic protocol coach. It cannot be left unmentioned that he’s the author of books on diplomacy („Przywitaj się z królową. Gafy, wpadki, faux-pas i inne historie", "Czego królowa Ci nie powie. Ambasadorowie" i "Polski most szpiegów").

We are happy to announce, that our second Lecturer will be Agnieszka Wójcik - UN Youth Delegate of Poland in the term 2019 - 2020. Agnieszka studies law at the University of Warsaw and has graduated from the Center for American Law Studies (Emory University School of Law & Georgia State University) as well as she serves as a local watchdog.

She has gained her professional experience while working for various NGOs, including: Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, Associations for Legal Intervention, Center for Citizenship Education, Humanity in Action or Citizens Network Watchdog Poland. She is actively involved in the scientific societies movement at university and has launched the educational platform “We are the UN”. Furthermore, she has coordinated the 5th Human Rights Week project and co – organized other students projects, such as: the Action Diplomacy or the Autumn School of Young Diplomats.

She strongly believes that youth should not only have vote but also voice.

We have pleasure to introduce Wojciech Lamentowicz as one of SELS speakers.

Mr Lamentowicz is a polish lawyer, politician and diplomat, former Member of Parliament. He graduated from Faculty of Law and Administration of Warsaw University in 1969. Then he became PhD and Doctor of Science in Law.

He was member of Solidarity Citizens' Committee and then an expert during the Polish Round Table Agreement proceedings. Both of these organizations have played a great role in polish independence history. Then, from 1990 he was a diplomatic advisor of Senat (polish upper house of Parliament). From 1990 until 1994 he was a director for the surveys at Institute of Political Studies of Polish Academy of Sciences and member of directors' council at Institutute for East-West Security Studies in New York. Then he became a Member of Parliament.

He was the Head of Polish Delegation for the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, during which he was the Vice President. He also played a role of a Special OSCE Observer for the Georgia-Abkhazia conflict (1996-1997). When he came back to Poland, he became associated with the office of the President of Poland, Aleksander Kwaśniewski. From 1997 to 2001 he was polish Ambassador in Grece and Cyprus. After returning to Poland as a former ambassador, he devoted himself to scientific work and started teeaching students. He even reached an office of rector of two Universities.

He lectured on the theory of state and law, legal philosophy, comparative political systems, comparative law and international relations, among others at universities in Warsaw, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Australia and NATO Defense College in Rome.

Dr Sławomir Klimkiewicz is political scientist, diploma and lecturer at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw.

Next Thursday he'll tell you all about solving conflicts as a true diplomatist.

His research interests include crisis and international conflict resolution, diplomacy theory and practice, diplomatic protocol, communication and intercultural dialogue, mediation and negotiation, and multiculturalism, migration and refugees. He is an expert in the political and social situation in the Balkans and Latin America, Turkish politics, solving international disputes and conflicts, as well as internal negotiations and mediation, refugee issues and issues related to immigration, adaptation and integration of migrants and refugees.

Hi is also an employee of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
From 1999 to 2005, he was a member of the leadership of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was responsible for building the administrative structure of the new state, establishing and operating political parties, social organisations, inter-ethnic dialogue and regional cooperation. On behalf of the OSCE, it has carried out a number of missions in the Balkans on conflict and crisis situations.

Mr Klimkiewicz was a lecturer at universities: Glasgow, Belfast, Trinity College Dublin and Caracas. He also managed Polish offices in France, Venezuela, Cuba and Algeria.
