Spoilers: The Confirmation of Stay cannot be postdated or backdated. It must be issued on/before your departure date and picked up in person. Leaving without it is the ultimate horror movie mistake! 😱

We proudly represented the University of Gdańsk at the 2nd Staff Welcome Centre Forum “Supporting People, Streamlining Processes”, organized by the University of Lodz and held under the patronage of the IROs Forum.

The event gathered experts from Welcome Centres and international offices across Poland to share experiences, exchange good practices, and discuss solutions that support the internationalization of higher education institutions.

The programme included expert-led discussions, practical workshops, and networking opportunities focused on creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for international staff, researchers, and academic guests.

It was an inspiring opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to the ongoing development of international support services within the Polish academic community.

The event is organised by the Pomorskie Voivodeship Self-Government and the City of Gdynia. The picnic is the result of cooperation among numerous non-governmental organisations, public institutions, and community partners working together to support the integration of residents and people with migration backgrounds. 🤝

📍 Where: Grunwaldzki Square in Gdynia

The program includes a wide range of attractions for the whole family, including artistic performances, children’s activities, competitions, a relaxation zone, information and exhibition stands, and a food zone. 🎈

Global Horizons 2.0: Inclusion, Diversity, Balance 🌍

Between May 25–29, the CIRO hosted the second edition of our Global Horizons Staff Week. We were delighted to welcome higher education professionals from 12 different countries to explore diversity, inclusion, and balance in academia.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in dynamic internationalisation workshops, brainstormed the “campus of the future,” and expanded their cultural awareness, alongside a memorable cultural tour of historic Gdańsk and the ECS Museum.
