Poetry Evening w ramach serii Irish Week za nami! ☘️
W ciepłej atmosferze Massolit Books & Café, przy herbacie☕️ i wśród książek📚 przenieśliśmy się do świata irlandzkiej poezji. Czytaliśmy wiersze Seamusa Heaneya, Eavan Boland, W. B. Yeatsa, a wieczór zakończyliśmy utworem „Take Care” autorstwa Michaela D. Higginsa. ✍️
Wprowadzenia do poezji dokonali: Prof. Kilroy, Mgr Michael Doherty oraz Krystian Kupiec, nadając spotkaniu głębszy kontekst. Dzięki licznym wizytom Dr Rzegockiej w Irlandii oraz irlandzkiemu pochodzeniu Michaela Doherty’ego, mogliśmy lepiej zrozumieć irlandzką kulturę i dostrzec różnice między Irlandczykami a Polakami. Rozmowy o kulturze, historii i twórczości poetów dopełniły poetyckiego klimatu wieczoru. 🇮🇪
Naszym specjalnym gościem była Dr Dupuy z Uniwersytetu w Galway, która dzień później poprowadziła na naszej uczelni dwa wykłady:
„Have you ever heard of a girl going on an adventure? Girlhood and agency, and reform in contemporary fantasy” oraz „Women and power in Irish fairy tales”. 📖
Dziękujemy wszystkim wykładowcom i uczestnikom za tak liczne przybycie i ogromne zaangażowanie! Już nie możemy się doczekać kolejnych wydarzeń!

Poetry Evening, a part of Irish Week , is behind us! ☘️
In the cozy atmosphere of Massolit Books & Café, over tea☕️ and surrounded by books📚, we entered the world of Irish poetry. We read works by Seamus Heaney, Eavan Boland, and W. B. Yeats, ending the evening with “Take Care” by Michael D. Higgins. ✍️
Prof. Gerard Kilroy, Michael Doherty, and Krystian Kupiec offered insightful introductions that gave the meeting deeper context. Thanks to Dr Rzegocka’s many visits to Ireland and Michael Doherty’s Irish heritage, we gained a richer understanding of Irish culture and the cultural differences between the Irish and the Polish. Conversations on culture, history, and poetry enriched the magical literary atmosphere of the evening. 🇮🇪
Our special guest was Dr Dupuy from the University of Galway, who delivered two lectures at our university the next day:
