Katedra Afryki Północnej i Subsaharyjskiej UJ, której kierownikiem jest dr hab. UJ, działa przy Instytucie Bliskiego i Dalekiego Wschodu UJ od lutego 2023 r. Do głównych zadań Katedry należy wspieranie rozwoju studiów afrykańskich prowadzonych w IBiDW UJ, a także prowadzenie interdyscyplinarnych badań nad wybranymi państwami Afryki oraz ich relacji z krajami azjatyckimi - zwłaszcza z zakresu nauk politycznych, stosunków międzynarodowych i antropologii kulturowej. The Chair of the North and Sub-Saharan Africa Chair at the Jagiellonian University, headed by Prof. Przemyslaw Turek, has been operating at the Institute of the Middle and Far East (Jagiellonian University) since February 2023. The main tasks of the Chair include supporting the development of African studies conducted at IBiDW UJ and doing interdisciplinary research on selected African countries and their relations with Asian countries - especially in political science, international relations, and cultural anthropology.
