“From necessary evil to meaningful crafting: Unleashing the potential of organizational routines”
W swoim wystąpieniu prof. Jacobsson podejmie rozważania, dlaczego niektóre rutyny organizacyjne są postrzegane jako bezsensowne obciążenie, podczas gdy inne wspierają zaangażowanie, profesjonalizm i dobrą jakość pracy. Opierając się na jakościowych badaniach prowadzonych w organizacjach opieki zdrowotnej w Szwecji, zaprezentuje koncepcję routine crafting - sposobu, w jaki profesjonaliści adaptują rutyny w codziennej praktyce, aby nadać im sens, zwiększyć ich skuteczność oraz zapewnić bezpieczeństwo. Wnioski z badań podważają postrzeganie rutyn wyłącznie jako biurokracji i mają znaczenie daleko wykraczające poza sektor ochrony zdrowia.
Prelegent:
Mattias Jacobsson jest profesorem nadzwyczajnym (docentem) w zakresie zarządzania i organizacji na Uniwersytecie w Umeå w Szwecji. Jego badania obejmują kilka wzajemnie powiązanych obszarów, w tym studia nad projektami, badania nad organizacjami tymczasowymi oraz rutynami organizacyjnymi. Kierował i uczestniczył w licznych projektach badawczych, opublikował ponad 35 artykułów w recenzowanych czasopismach naukowych oraz otrzymał sześć nagród za najlepszy artykuł i dwie nagrody Outstanding Reviewer Award. Jego prace ukazały się m.in. w takich czasopismach jak Business Horizons, European Management Journal, Management Decision, Project Management Journal®, International Journal of Project Management oraz Construction Management and Economics.

We warmly invite you to a seminar with Professor Mattias Jacobsson (Umeå University, Sweden) entitled:
“From necessary evil to meaningful crafting: Unleashing the potential of organizational routines”
In his talk, Professor Jacobsson explores why some organizational routines are experienced as meaningless burdens, while others foster engagement, professionalism, and high-quality work. Drawing on a qualitative study of primary healthcare in Sweden, he introduces the concept of routine crafting- the ways professionals adapt routines in everyday practice to make them meaningful, effective, and safe. The findings challenge the common view of routines as mere bureaucracy and offer insights relevant far beyond the healthcare sector.
Speaker:
Mattias Jacobsson, PhD, is Associate Professor (Docent) of Management and Organization and a Distinguished Teacher at Umeå University, Sweden. His research spans several interrelated areas, including project studies, research on temporary organizations, and organizational routines. He has led and participated in numerous research projects, published more than 35 articles in peer‑reviewed journals, and received six Best Paper Awards and two Outstanding Reviewer Awards. His work has appeared in outlets such as Business Horizons, European Management Journal, Management Decision, Project Management Journal®, International Journal of Project Management, and Construction Management and Economics.
