Today, on the first day of the exam session, we would like to thank all the Lecturers and Partners for the extremely interesting and rich in experience semester.
In February we started the semester with online “blessings” from Mrs. Martha Chikowore and offline ones from Mr. Victor Owade, who took care of the administration of the Programme on behalf of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
During the residential semester except for the intensive studying routine and day-to-day learning activities continuously supported by our Jagiellonian University Professionals, we were happy to offer the IPNT students lectures of WIPO-sponsored experts – Professor María Vázquez (University of San Andrés), Professor Ansgar Ohly (Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich), Professor Duncan Matthews (Queen Mary School of Law) and Professor Aurelio Lopez-Tarruella (University of Alicante) as well as Dr Andrzej Gadkowski with his colleagues Chiara Accornero, Maria de Lourdes Aguirre Algara, Justine Ferland and Nihan Kir.
Under the support of the Jagiellonian University Project (IDUJ) (Uniwersytet Jagielloński, Wydział Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego) we were able to enrich the Programme with the brilliant courses of Prof. Christophe Geiger (Luiss Guido Carli University) and Prof. Martin Senftleben (University of Amsterdam). The last but not least IPNT Programme was honoured to host again Prof. Irene Calboli (Texas A&M University School of Law).
Apart from the above in April, our students were not just attendees but active participants in a unique two-day study visit hosted by our Joint Master’s Programme partner – the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland (Urząd Patentowy Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej). The group was warmly welcomed by Dr Piotr Zakrzewski (Deputy President of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland), Mrs Joanna Kupka (Deputy Director of the Innovation and Communication Department) and other employees, and were step-by-step guided by experts through the inner world of the Office.
And, of course, we shall thank the main heroes of the day – OUR STUDENTS – for the great involvement and interesting very international IP journey and time spent in Kraków! We hope the time rich in new knowledge, experience and acquaintances will make the following two weeks of exam sessions easy and successful. Good luck and fingers crossed!!!

This week we’ve started officially, but very emotionally – on 26th of February, 2024 graduates of IPNT 2022/2024 edition were awarded with the well-deserved diplomas while students of 2023-2025 edition joined us in Kraków for the residential phase.
Three best graduates – Mrs. Svitlana Parkhomchuk, Mrs. Agnieszka Warmuzińska and Mrs. Anna Katarina Bantegui Rodriguez have been granted a WIPO awards upon results of the whole Programme – congratulations!
The ceremony which held in majestic Aula of Collegium Novum was honoured by offline presence of the representatives of co-organizers of the Programme – Mr. Victor Owade (WIPO), Dr Piotr Zakrzewski and Mrs. Joanna Kupka (Polish Patent Office), Dr Alicja Adamczak (Honourable Member of IPNT Steering Committee) and Deans of the Faculty of Law and Administration – Professor Dr hab. Jerzy Pisuliński and Professor Dr hab. Bartosz Brożek. Online transmission of the event granted us possibility to host Mrs. Martha Chikowore (WIPO Academy), graduates who did not manage to join us offline and families of our graduates.
Participants of the event enjoyed the passionate and very informative inauguration lecture “Abuse of the trade mark system: a real or illusory threat” provided by Dr hab. Łukasz Żelechowski (University of Warsaw).
Thank you for spending that day with us and wishing lots of success both our graduates and students for their future in IP!

We are very happy to announce that world-know IP law expert Professor Christophe Geiger (LUISS Guido Carli) richened the team of international experts of the Intellectual Property and New Technologies Master’s Degree Programme.

Christophe Geiger is a Professor of Law at the Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome (Italy) and the President of the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP) (2022-2024); former Director General of Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) at the University of Strasbourg (France).

As a leading expert in the field, Professor Geiger explored the Internet Service Providers' (ISP) liability regime last week in light of European Union law, focusing on liability for intellectual property (IP) infringing content. Thanks to an interactive methodology involving students in the presentation of case law and a dynamic discussion, the course participants had an exemptional opportunity to get familiar with detailed and complicated issues related to a legal framework and CJEU decisions and copyright infringement on the Internet and ISP liability.

Thank you, Professor Geiger for an excellent course in Kraków!
