🌍 Strengthening international partnerships 🇺🇸🇵🇱

This week, our Vice Rector for Students and Internationalization, Prof. Beata Piskorska, paid an official visit to the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, University of Notre Dame - one of the most prestigious centres for European affairs in the United States. 🗽 Over the last two days, Prof. Piskorska held a series of meaningful meetings with academics, administrators, and institutional leaders, exploring areas of potential cooperation between our universities. 👥

During her visit, Prof. Piskorska met with Prof. Andres Mejia Acosta, Associate Dean for Policy and Practice at the Keough School of Global Affairs, to discuss possibilities for cross-institutional collaboration in research and education. 🌐

🌏 Alongside these conversations, Prof. Piskorska joined a lunch panel titled "The Crimea We Don't Know: Culture and Indigeneity at a Global Flashpoint" - a valuable discussion on a topic of direct relevance to Central and Eastern Europe - and had the opportunity to tour the Notre Dame campus.

This visit reflects our ongoing commitment to building lasting academic bridges across borders, rooted in shared Catholic and humanistic values. We look forward to the cooperation ahead! 🤝

Erasmus+ Traineeship at KUL 🌐

We are happy to welcome Ms Ipek Gümüşcan from Pamukkale University in Türkiye, who has just arrived for a one-month Erasmus traineeship at the Department of International Economics at KUL. 🇵🇱 🌍 🇹🇷

Ms Gümüşcan will conduct her traineeship under the mentorship of Professor Bartosz Jóźwik and the supervision of Dr Piotr Bolibok. 🎓

International Visit from Türkiye 🌍🇹🇷

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Mehtap May Aksoy, International Cooperation & Exchange Programme Manager at Fenerbahçe Üniversitesi, to our campus.

During her visit, Ms. Aksoy met with our International Relations Office team and with an Erasmus+ exchange student from Fenerbahçe University currently studying at KUL. The visit was a wonderful opportunity to exchange presentations on our respective institutions and share best practices, with an eye toward deepening future collaboration. 👀

Ms. Aksoy also attended a guest lecture given by Belgian Ambassadors to Poland and Ukraine, titled "EU Unity in Times of Crisis: A Belgian Perspective on European Democracy" - a fitting complement to the spirit of international dialogue that defined the week. 🌐

We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Fenerbahçe University and look forward to what's ahead. 🇵🇱🤝🇹🇷

International Visit to Isparta Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi 🌍 🇹🇷

Last week, our colleague Paweł Snosek from the International Relations Office visited our key partner, Süleyman Demirel University in Türkiye. Each year, we are pleased to welcome numerous students from SDU to our English Studies Department.

The visit included productive meetings at the International Relations Office, and Department of Western Languages and Literature, as well as engaging discussions with both former and prospective Erasmus students at KUL. 🌐

In addition, the visit helped promote the Shakespeare Festival in Isparta, strengthen international collaboration between our universities and promotion of the Three Seas Universities Network.

We greatly value and appreciate our ongoing partnership. 🇹🇷🤝🇵🇱

KUL at Harvard 🇵🇱🇺🇸
➡ Today we had the extraordinary opportunity to visit one of the world’s most prestigious universities – Harvard University 🎓. Our meeting with the Vice PROVOST for International Affairs, Professor Mark Elliott, opened the door to discussions about the future of education, collaboration and global opportunities for students 🤝🌍.

➡ The next stop on our visit was the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – one of the world’s leading technical universities , where innovation truly meets practice 🚀. The chance to see this place up close was an inspiring experience and an important point of reference in discussions about the development of science and technology. 📚

➡ While touring the campuses, we looked into the places where world-changing ideas are born – from modern research spaces to meeting places for students from all over the world. 🏛 We discussed how the universities are organised, how they support the development of talent 🎓, and how they build international relationships 🤝.

➡ This visit is more than just a symbolic gesture – it is a tangible step towards an even stronger international presence for KUL. 🌍 The inspiration, contacts and new perspectives gained are already working towards the future of our students and the university as a whole ✨

📍A visit to Salem State University – the city of witches, which we had the chance to experience from a completely different perspective. 🏙

It turned out that Salem isn’t just about history and legends, but above all a place of open-minded people with kind hearts. 💖

During our conversations, we discovered that we do many things in very similar ways—the experiences of international students and their needs are universal regardless of the country. 🇵🇱🇺🇸 At the same time, we benefited from our partners’ valuable advice regarding the operation of the welcome center and engaging students in academic events. 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

We also had the opportunity to meet university administrators, faculty members, and students, with whom we spoke while touring the campus. The atmosphere was incredibly open and inspiring. ✨

This is certainly not our last visit—we have more joint projects ahead of us, as well as a return visit from our long-standing partners in the Erasmus+ program.

A beautiful campus, a vibrant academic community, and many new ideas for the future 🌍📚

👥 From April 7 to April 14, 2026, KUL, The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin is hosting Ms. Gag Hadasa Liga - a Romanian PhD student from West University of Timisoara. 🇷🇴

🌍 Ms. Gag attended the Erasmus+ short-term Doctoral Mobility hosted by The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. 🎓

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hab. Bartosz Jóźwik Ms. Gag delivered several presentations and benefitted from his insights on the appropriate methodological approaches for assessing the impact of structural funds. 🧾

We wish Ms. Gag fruitful research and we're happy to have her here. 🤝🏼

📍Our collegue Kamil from International Relations Office attended the Fulbright Poland Networking and Information Meeting at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Warsaw. 🏙

🟢 The event gathered international cooperation representatives from universities across Poland, together with Fulbright Program Ambassadors sharing firsthand experience of studying and conducting research in the United States. 🇺🇸🇵🇱
