👉 Ministry of Science and Higher Education published the results of the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity for the years 2022-2025. Maria Curie-Skłodowska University evaluated 24 scientific disciplines and as many as 10 of them received a high category A, confirming the strong scientific and research position of our University.
📌 This group also includes two disciplines implemented at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism by Institute of Social Communication and Media Sciences (Social Communication and Media Sciences) and Institute of Political Science and Administration (Political and Administrative Sciences). The result obtained is a confirmation of the high quality of the research conducted and its importance for the development of science and society.
For the first time, the discipline of international relations, developed in Institute of International Relations. Already in its debut, it obtained the B+ category, which is a very good result and a solid confirmation of the scientific potential of this discipline.
🎯 The results of the evaluation are of key importance for the development of scientific units, influencing, m.in, their financing, prestige and the possibility of conducting further research and national and international cooperation.
The awarded grades are the result of the involvement of researchers, research teams and the entire academic community, which consistently develops research activities and builds the position of UMCS in Poland and abroad. 📈

Nasze instytuty wśród najlepszych w Polsce! ⭐️🇵🇱

👉 Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego opublikowało wyniki ewaluacji jakości działalności naukowej za lata 2022-2025. Uniwersytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej poddał ocenie 24 dyscypliny naukowe i aż 10 z nich uzyskało wysoką kategorię A, potwierdzając silną pozycję naukowo-badawczą naszej Uczelni.

📌 W tym gronie znalazły się także dwie dyscypliny realizowane na Wydziale Politologii i Dziennikarstwa przez Instytut Nauk o Komunikacji Społecznej i Mediach (nauki o komunikacji społecznej i mediach) oraz Instytut Nauk o Polityce i Administracji (nauki o polityce i administracji). Uzyskany wynik stanowi potwierdzenie wysokiej jakości prowadzonych badań oraz ich znaczenia dla rozwoju nauki i społeczeństwa.

Po raz pierwszy ministerialnej ewaluacji poddana została dyscyplina stosunki międzynarodowe, rozwijana w Instytut Stosunków Międzynarodowych. Już w swoim debiucie uzyskała ona kategorię B+, co jest bardzo dobrym wynikiem i solidnym potwierdzeniem potencjału naukowego tej dyscypliny.

🎯 Wyniki ewaluacji mają kluczowe znaczenie dla rozwoju jednostek naukowych, wpływając m.in. na ich finansowanie, prestiż oraz możliwości prowadzenia dalszych badań i współpracy krajowej oraz międzynarodowej.

Przyznane oceny są efektem zaangażowania pracowników naukowych, zespołów badawczych i całej społeczności akademickiej, która konsekwentnie rozwija działalność badawczą oraz buduje pozycję UMCS w kraju i za granicą. 📈

ANNOUNCEMENT!!
Ms. Hana Girma Mamo, a student of International Relations (second degree), has been awarded the scholarship program of the Polish Committee for UNESCO.
📌 As part of the scholarship, our student will carry out a research project at UMCS under the scientific supervision of Dr. Majid Asadnabizadeh from the University of Curie-Skłodowska University. Institute of International Relations. The research will cover selected aspects of the role of developing countries in international climate diplomacy, fitting into the current debate on global climate governance.
ℹ️ Ms. Hana is a former prosecutor from Ethiopia. She has experience in conducting criminal proceedings, analyzing evidence and the rule of law. During her internship in the area of KYC (Know Your Customer), she dealt with transaction analysis and identification of financial risks in order to prevent financial crimes. She has also participated in projects in the field of protection of refugees from Eritrea and counteracting gender-based violence.
🎯 The awarded scholarship is an expression of recognition for the scientific value of the project, and at the same time supports the development of international research cooperation at our Faculty.

Stypendium będzie realizowane w roku akademickim 2026/2027. 💰

👉 Hana Girma Mamo, studentka kierunku International Relations (II stopień), została laureatką programu stypendialnego Polskiego Komitetu ds. UNESCO.

📌 W ramach przyznanego stypendium nasza studentka będzie realizować na UMCS projekt badawczy pod opieką naukową dr. Majida Asadnabizadeha z Instytut Stosunków Międzynarodowych. Badania obejmą wybrane aspekty roli państw rozwijających się w międzynarodowej dyplomacji klimatycznej, wpisując się w aktualną debatę dotyczącą globalnego zarządzania klimatem.

ℹ️ Pani Hana jest byłą prokuratorką z Etiopii. Posiada doświadczenie w zakresie prowadzenia postępowań karnych, analizy materiału dowodowego i praworządności. Podczas stażu w obszarze KYC (Know Your Customer) zajmowała się analizą transakcji i identyfikacją ryzyk finansowych w celu zapobiegania przestępstwom finansowym. Uczestniczyła także w projektach z zakresu ochrony uchodźców z Erytrei oraz przeciwdziałania przemocy ze względu na płeć.

🎯 Przyznane stypendium jest wyrazem uznania dla wartości naukowej opracowanego projektu, a jednocześnie wspiera rozwój międzynarodowej współpracy badawczej na naszym Wydziale.

On 11-12 June, Oleksandr Shtanhret, an employee of the Office for International Studies and Student Services, represented Maria Curie-Skłodowska University at the "Shaping Student Mobility Beyond 2027" conference in Brussels.
The meeting brought together representatives of the European Commission, Erasmus+ National Agencies, universities and experts responsible for the development of digital student mobility in Europe.
UMCS is one of the ESCI Champions 2025–2027 – universities recognized as leaders in the implementation of the digitization initiative of the Erasmus+ Programme. During the conference, the official award ceremony took place, and as an ESCI Champion, UMCS took direct part in consultations on the future of academic mobility and the next edition of the Erasmus+ Programme for 2028–2035.
