Medical United Wins the UMLUB Rector’s Cup in Futsal! ⚽🏆
Fast-paced action, sporting excitement, a fight until the final whistle, and a great academic atmosphere—that’s what the Rector’s Cup Futsal Tournament was all about.
On May 14, the UMLUB Sports and Entertainment Hall turned into an arena of futsal competition. Students and soccer enthusiasts showed that sports at our University are not just about the score, but also about integration, energy, and sharing the excitement together.
The Medical United team was named the best team of the tournament, defeating the Anatomy Club 1-0 in the final. Third place went to the Low Effort team, which beat the Orły Medycyny 2-0.
The title of best player of the tournament went to Mazen Koulkou from the Medical United team.

Artificial Intelligence Is Transforming Medicine – CASE 2026 Is Behind Us
On May 9, the second edition of the Clinical AI Solutions Event – CASE 2026 took place at the Medical Simulation Center of the Medical University of Lublin, focusing on the use of artificial intelligence and new technologies in healthcare

The event brought together students, doctors, researchers, and representatives of the MedTech industry. The program included scientific sessions on topics such as medical diagnostics, the application of AI in cardiology, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, medical data analysis, liability for AI system errors, and the digital transformation of healthcare.

CASE 2026 served as a platform for knowledge exchange, the presentation of innovative solutions, and discussions on how artificial intelligence can support the future of medicine, clinical work, and patient care.

Sports excitement and academic energy on the UMLUB court!
The Volleyball Tournament for the Cup of the Rector of the Medical University of Lublin has come to a close, bringing together students, graduate students, staff, and the entire academic community on May 11.
There was a fight for every ball, great cheering, and plenty of positive athletic energy. The tournament was won by the Taiwan Kuma team, with Brygada Kablociągu taking second place and Trudnogang coming in third.
👏 MVP awards went to: Mateusz Sokołowski and Josephine Wangs.
Congratulations to all the teams and thank you for creating a true academic celebration of sports!

A delegation from UMLUB, led by the Rector of the Medical University of Lublin, Prof. Wojciech Załuska, M.D., Ph.D. attended the 2026 World Digital Education Conference!
This international event took place May 10–13 in Hangzhou, China, with the theme “AI + Education: Transformation, Development, and Management.” During the conference, participants are discussing, for example, how artificial intelligence should be incorporated into the development and improvement of global educational quality, and how modern technologies can be used to develop a consensus and guidelines for the global governance of education in the field of AI.
The program of the World Digital Education Conference includes, among other things, thematic lectures as well as plenary and parallel sessions.

With over 500 participants from Poland and abroad, leading experts, and the latest advances in hematology and transfusion medicine, the 6th International Conference on Clinical and Experimental Hematology took place May 7–10 at the Lublin Conference Center.
This is the largest hematology event in Poland this year, organized annually by . The conference program included diagnostic workshops, scientific sessions, expert lectures, and panels dedicated to the latest challenges and trends in the development of hematology and hemato-oncology.
A highlight of the event was the Opening Gala, during which Prof. Lars Bullinger was awarded the Lublin Union Medal for his contribution to scientific collaboration and the advancement of hematology.
“Modern academic medicine must be based on international cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and joint action for the future of healthcare,” emphasized Prof. Wojciech Załuska, Rector of UMLUB.
The conference also served as a platform to support young researchers and students interested in advancing the fields of hematology and oncology.

💛 This is a charity run – the event will raise money for the treatment and rehabilitation of Franio Styła, who is struggling with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Every step truly matters. ⏱ Race start: 12:00 PM (in front of the UMLub Rector's Office, al. Racławickie 1)
🎽 Packet collection: 11:00 AM–11:40 AM (Region Office at the UMLub Rector's Office)

There will also be a running village with a recovery zone, where physiotherapy students and event partners will share their knowledge about recovery, injury prevention, and physical activity.

Guests will be able to use a foam roller, stretching mats, and watch a dynamic taping demonstration, among other things.

🎁 Participation is free, and space is limited to 150 people – first-come, first-served. Participants will receive small gifts, and the best participants will receive prizes.

Can you talk about science in an engaging and clear way—and do it in just three minutes? Apply for the Polish edition of FameLab 2026!

FameLab is the world's largest competition in the field of science communication, the idea of which is to popularize science and present complex scientific issues in an understandable way. The competition is addressed to students (from 21 years of age), doctoral students, and young researchers.

The task of the participants is to present a scientific topic of their choice in English within three minutes. The winners of the first three places will receive financial prizes with a total value of 20,000 PLN, and the winner will additionally represent Poland during the international final of FameLab International.

The organizer of the Polish edition of the competition since 2024 is the University of Silesia in Katowice, together with the Academic Consortium – Katowice City of Science. The honorary patronage over the initiative is held by the Minister of Science and Higher Education and the National Centre for Research and Development.

The medicine of the future starts here – CASE 2026 🤖

On May 9, 2026, the second edition of the *Clinical AI Solutions Event (CASE 2026)* conference, devoted to the use of artificial intelligence in health care, will be held at the Medical Simulation Center of the Medical University of Lublin.

The event is hybrid (in-person and online) and completely free of charge. The program includes two scientific sessions: on medical diagnostics and new technologies in medicine. The conference will be conducted in Polish.

CASE 2026 is a space for exchanging knowledge and experiences, combining the academic, medical and technological communities. Student sessions occupy a special place, enabling the presentation of projects, obtaining expert opinions and developing cooperation.
The event is addressed to students, doctors, scientists and everyone interested in artificial intelligence and innovations in medicine.

🎤 Speakers will include: Tomasz Zieliński, Karol Rawicz-Pruszyński and Adrian Bednarek – experts and practitioners developing AI solutions in health care.

Participation in the conference is free of charge. We encourage you to register and follow information about the program and speakers.

Już 9 maja 2026 r. w Centrum Symulacji Medycznej Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Lublinie odbędzie się druga edycja konferencji *Clinical AI Solutions Event (CASE 2026)*, poświęconej wykorzystaniu sztucznej inteligencji w ochronie zdrowia.

Wydarzenie ma charakter hybrydowy (stacjonarnie oraz online) i jest całkowicie bezpłatne. Program obejmuje dwie sesje naukowe: dotyczącą diagnostyki medycznej oraz nowych technologii w medycynie. Konferencja prowadzona będzie w języku polskim.

CASE 2026 to przestrzeń wymiany wiedzy i doświadczeń, łącząca środowisko akademickie, medyczne oraz technologiczne. Szczególne miejsce zajmują sesje studenckie, umożliwiające prezentację projektów, uzyskanie opinii ekspertów oraz rozwój współpracy.

on the international map of dental education 🦷

On April 17, 2026, a meeting of the Management Board of the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) was held at the Medical University of Lublin. Our university was visited by representatives of as many as 10 countries, including the President of ADEE, prof. Ivan Alajbeg.

This unique event was not only an opportunity to talk about the future of dental education, but also to present the potential of the University and Lublin as a host of international initiatives.🌐
The meeting was of particular importance in the context of 2027 - UMLUB will be the organizer of the prestigious ADEE conference! 💡

The guests visited, among others: Medical Simulation Center, University Center of Dentistry and Lublin Conference Center, learning about our infrastructure and organizational capabilities.
This is an important step in strengthening international cooperation and the position of our university in the world. 🤝
