2. MARX AND SRAFFA: A NOVEL PERSPECTIVE AFTER THE OPENING OF THE ARCHIVES.

Tematem drugiego wykładu będzie oczywiście neoricardiańska krytyka marksowskiej teorii wartości i wkład Piero Sraffy i jego klasycznej "Produkcji towarów za pomocą towarów" w klasyczną ekonomię polityczną:

"A novel perspective, both interpretative and reconstructive, about the relationship between Sraffa and Marx will be presented. In the Lecture, some of the surprises coming from the Archive will be considered in a more general survey of Sraffa’s published output, from his criticism of Marshall and his attack against Hayek to his Ricardo’s edition and some analytic conclusions of Production of Commodities by Means of Commodities".

We'd like to express our deepest gratitude to all of the people that contributed to this year's school being such an amazing learning experience. From the bottom of our hearts we thank all participants, lecturers, organizers and other people who helped us out during the event. We hope that the school was as enriching and fruitful for you as it was for us.

We are especially grateful towards our guests from Rethinking Economics, who gave us a hand in creating a place for heterodox economics on a Polish scene.

So, take care, and hopefully, let's meet again next year!

"Are we all Minskians now"? as suggested by Bob Pollin? Well in his much-awaited lecture in Poznan, on Sunday, Marc Lavoie is giving a controversial paper entitled "Was Hyman Minsky a Post-Keynesian? Or is there a dark side to Minsky’s
force??"

Lavoie and Seccareccia have always been critical of Minsky, for instance in a brilliant article called "The Missing Macroeconomic Link". I myself, in my 1999 book, have traced Minsky's early roots to the theory of loanable funds (his 1957 articles), arguing that Minsky developed his theory of financial fragility within a very orthodox/loanable funds context.

Lavoie's paper will surely ruffle some feathers.

This is what you can expect from the Poznan summer school!!! A vibrant, thought-provocating summer school. The Review of Political Economy is proud to be sponsoring this summer school.

Are there any institutionalists on board? 🤔 It's time to introduce another one of our lecturers at Poznań Summer School of Heterodox Economics. However we'd like to begin by kindly reminding you that you can still enroll at our school and learn all the necessary details by visiting our website: tiny.pl/g2pnn. We also remain at your service on this fanpage - if you have any doubts or questions, don't hesitate to message us.

Now, to the point: Professor Paolo Ramazzotti works at the University of Macerata. He specializes in the history of economics thought. One of the main Italian proponents of the "old" institutionalism. Member of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE). His works include many articles (published i.e. in Cambridge Journal of Economics, Forum of Social Economics and Journal of Economic Issues). In his research he focuses mainly on the labour market, the institutional theory of enterprise and Thorstein Veblen's, and Karl Polanyi's theories.

During our school we will have the pleasure of listening two lectures of his:
1. THE MEANING OF HETERODOX ECONOMICS:
The lecture will discuss the main differences between orthodox and heterodox approaches to the economy and to economic thought. In particular, it will lay emphasis on the distinction between price-centered and institution-centered views of economic coordination.

2. SYSTEMIC OPENNESS AND KNOWLEDGE:
The nature of (economic) knowledge is strictly related to the notion of systemic openness, both of the economy and of economics. The presentation will therefore emphasize
this relation by focusing, first, on choice and learning and, subsequently, on different methodological approaches to scientific inquiry.
