Jiří Reif, Martin Jiran, Radka Reifova, Jana Vokurkova, Paweł T. Dolata, Adam Petrusek, Tereza Petruskova 2015. Interspecific territoriality in two songbird species: potential role of song convergence in male aggressive interactions. Animal Behaviour 104: 131-136.
This is an example of excellent study on difficult species in which authors documented strong interspecific territoriality between two nightingale species under a robust experimental design. Moreover, the study has very interesting ecological and evolutionary inspiration. Jiří Reif is first and corresponding author of awarded paper.
