The EUROASMUS AND FRIENDS CUP has enjoyed great popularity among the international academic community for years. First organized in 2012 to coincide with the European Championship held in Poznań, the tournament continues to attract many eager participants and demonstrates that the legacy of UEFA Euro 2012 is still very much alive. The tournament also serves another purpose: it brings together students from around the world who are studying in Poznań and promotes the city globally through extensive photo coverage on social media.

Poznań University of Life Sciences has been included on the list of competent organizations – a European network of scientific institutions supporting EFSA in its food safety activities. 🍎🤩 This status confirms the University's high expert potential and opens up access to research projects, EFSA grants, and participation in international scientific consortia. 🤓 PULS scientists will be able to actively participate in the work of EFSA's expert panels and scientific networks, benefit from internship programs, and collaborate as national experts delegated to the Office. 🤝
Achieving this status was possible thanks to the commitment and work of many people. We extend special thanks to Prof. Joanna Kobus-Cisowska, PhD, DSc, Eng., Mirosław Różycki, Katarzyna Trzeciak, and Prof. UPP Magdalena Zielińska-Dawidziak, PhD, DSc, Eng., whose contributions were significant in incorporating the Poznań University of Life Sciences into the EFSA network of competent organizations. 👍

Students from 19 countries will compete in the EUROASMUS AND FRIENDS CUP 2026!

The legacy of UEFA EURO 2012 lives on in Poznań! The EUROASMUS AND FRIENDS CUP, launched in 2012, will be held for the 13th time this year!
On Thursday, May 14th, the EuroASMUS and Friends Cup 2026 International Football Tournament will take place at the POSiR Rataje Center (106A Piastowskie Housing Estate).
Who will triumph in 2026?
The tournament will feature eight teams consisting of ten international students (studying in Poznań) representing their home countries. This year, the participating teams will be South Korea, Nigeria, Palestine, Rwanda, two Turkeys, Ukraine, and Poland. It is worth emphasizing, however, that although there are 8 teams, the players will come from a total of 19 countries, some of which will also include representatives of other nationalities (according to the regulations, at least 4 players had to be citizens of that country).
During the last edition of the tournament in 2025, 8 teams participated: Palestine, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Canada, Tajikistan, Italy, Poland, and England (15 nationalities in total). Traditionally, everyone played according to the motto "We play together, we support together, we celebrate together!"
A total of 16 matches were played during the day, initially played in two groups. Then, the 4 best teams advanced to the semi-finals, only to face off in the third-place matches and the grand final. This final featured teams from Poland and Palestine. After two 8-minute matches and scoring two goals, the Polish national team was finally able to lift the trophy for The best team won 2-1. In a fierce match for third place, pitting players from Egypt and Canada against each other, Egypt ultimately scored one more goal, winning 1-0. An Egyptian player was named the tournament's best goalkeeper, and a representative of Palestine was named the best player.

I have had the honor of playing in the tournament since 2014, when I was still a student at Adam Mickiewicz University. Since then, I have played for the Georgian and Ukrainian teams, and this year, as a guest player for the Tajikistan team. The tournament has gained a lot of attention in Poznań, and many students are eager to participate. In my opinion, something that unites people and students around the world is sport; here, the love of football unites us all. This tradition, interest, and continuation of the Euroasmus and Friends Cup is proof that it is an important cultural and sporting element of the city of Poznań, creating an international environment, bringing together people from different cultures, traditions, languages, values, and religions – Maged from Yemen.

We play together, We support together, we celebrate together!
