Polecamy felieton prof. Piotra Idczaka z naszej katedry 👇

Felieton na Jubileusz 100-lecia UEP autorstwa dr. hab. Piotra Idczaka, prof. UEP przedstawia kluczowe czynniki stymulujące rozwój miast, wśród których najważniejszą rolę odgrywają korzyści skali oraz naturalne uwarunkowania geograficzne.

W procesie urbanizacji kluczowe znaczenie ma koncentracja ludności oraz działalności gospodarczej, która sprzyja wymianie handlowej i powstawaniu wyspecjalizowanych węzłów rynkowych. Równocześnie mniejsze ośrodki zaspokajają podstawowe potrzeby mieszkańców, podczas gdy większe miasta pełnią funkcje administracyjne i handlowe o szerszym zasięgu.

Długofalowa trwałość miast zależy głównie od efektywnego zarządzania zasobami oraz zdolności adaptacji do zmieniających się potrzeb społecznych. Mimo że aglomeracje oferują wyższą produktywność, ich dalszy rozwój bywa ograniczany przez rosnące koszty gruntów, transportu oraz życia.

This monograph is one of the outcomes of TRANSFORM EU, the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Poznaniu.

The volume brings together research and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping Europe’s transformation and resilience, including the green and digital transitions, and their implications for European economies and societies.

Languages unite! 🇪🇺

From 24 official languages to over 60 regional and minority languages, the European Union is home to remarkable linguistic diversity. And 86% of EU citizens agree: multilingualism matters.

On the European Day of Languages, we join the conversation by highlighting the importance of promoting and protecting Europe's linguistic diversity, especially regional and minority languages.

Our plenary sessions are a perfect example of multilingualism in action. Whether our guests and members speak in their own languages or interpreters and translators make sure everyone can understand, every European language has a place in our debates. And last year, we welcomed Catalan and Galician too!

🇺🇳 Wizyta studyjna w Wiedniu – ONZ, UNIDO i Instytut Polski

Dr Judyta Cabańska i mgr Zuzanna Maleszewska Katedry Europeistyki wraz ze studentami odbyły wizytę studyjną w Wiedniu, której ważnym elementem było poznanie działalności organizacji i instytucji międzynarodowych.

Jednym z najważniejszych punktów programu było spotkanie z Panem Ambasadorem Markiem Szczygłem, Stałym Przedstawicielem RP przy Biurze Narodów Zjednoczonych i Organizacji Międzynarodowych w Wiedniu. Rozmowa była okazją do przybliżenia studentom roli Polski w systemie ONZ oraz funkcjonowania Stałego Przedstawicielstwa.

🇺🇳 Odwiedziliśmy również Vienna International Centre, gdzie odbyła się wizyta studyjna w UNIDO – Organizacji Narodów Zjednoczonych ds. Rozwoju Przemysłowego. Spotkanie pozwoliło studentom lepiej poznać działalność UNIDO, jego rolę w realizacji celów zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz możliwości zaangażowania młodych ludzi w działalność organizacji międzynarodowych.

🇵🇱 Program wizyty obejmował także spotkanie w Instytucie Polskim w Wiedniu, które było kolejną okazją do poznania polskiej obecności instytucjonalnej i kulturalnej w Austrii.

Serdecznie dziękujemy Panu Michałowi Andrukonis za ogromne zaangażowanie i pomoc w organizacji wizyty.

Takie wizyty są niezwykle cennym elementem edukacji – pozwalają łączyć wiedzę akademicką z bezpośrednim doświadczeniem i pokazują młodym ludziom możliwe ścieżki rozwoju zawodowego w organizacjach międzynarodowych.
