To mark United Nations Human Rights Day, the IPSA Research Committee on Human Rights (RC26) will host a special webinar on Friday, 12 December 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm (CET). The event is organized within the framework of the International Conference “Beyond Europe” at Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poznań, Poland.

The webinar “2025 UN Human Rights Day – Never Again Is… Now: The 80th Anniversary of the End of the Second World War and the Founding of the United Nations” will feature distinguished experts and RC26 leaders, including:

On 4 December, the International Cultural Centre in Krakow hosted an expert forum entitled ''The future of the cultural and creative sectors in the multiannual financial framework for 2028–2034.
The meeting was opened by Marta Cienkowska, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and online by Glenn Micallef, EU Commissioner for Intergenerational Justice, Youth, Culture and Sport, and Nela Riehl, Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Culture and Education. Prof. Jędrzej Skrzypczak participated in a fascinating panel discussion on the media.

🤝In November 2025, a pleasant gathering in Almaty, Kazakhstan, evolved into a thought-provoking seminar on the contemporary challenges posed by new technologies, viewed from both Polish and Kazakh perspectives. The discussion featured Prof. Skrzypczak and Prof. Dosan Baimolda of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. Twelve years earlier, Prof. Baimolda had completed a research internship at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, a connection that added a unique layer to the exchange. Known for his vibrant personality, Prof. Baimolda is not only a distinguished professor of nuclear physics but also a former contributor to Radio Free Europe, making him an unusually dynamic presence in both academic and public spheres.

📣Prof. Jedrzej Skrzypczak delivered a lecture on “The Digital Divide from a Human Rights Perspective: The Case of Poland in the European Union Context” at the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Digital Transformation of Education, Science and Culture in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” on 21 November 2025, during his scientific visit to the International Information Technology University (IITU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

📕📚The event also provided an opportunity to present the activities of Research Committee 26 on Human Rights of the International Political Science Association and joint projects with Prof. Oscar Pérez de la Fuente of Carlos III University of Madrid, as well as to promote their latest book, Bridging the Digital Divide: Perspectives on Inequality and Discrimination in the Digital Age(Palgrave Macmillan, 2025), and earlier joint publications, Minorities, Free Speech and the Internet (Routledge, 2023) and Lessons for Implementing Human Rights from COVID-19: How the Pandemic Has Changed the World (Routledge, 2025).
