Empirical Linguistics & Language Documentation Official page of the MA programme in Empirical Linguistics and Language Documentation (ELLDo)

The MA programme in Empirical Linguistics and Language Documentation was established in 2016. Our programme aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills for documenting languages according to 21st century standards, as well as access to research methods in empirical linguistics and their application in various fields of practice. The core classes of the program are taught by sp

ecialists of various fields of empirical linguistics, such as: sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, corpus linguistics, speech analysis, language typology, language planning, multilingualism, multimodality, and of course language documentation. To complete the programme, students are expected to produce an MA thesis supervised by the teachers through MA Seminar classes. The teachers in this programme are experienced researchers working at the Institute of Linguistics and the Chair of Oriental Studies, within the Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures.
