Competition for Young Scientists Working for Climate Protection - Applications Deadline: September 15
A cash prize of PLN 30,000 awaits young scientists conducting research in the area of climate protection or mitigating the effects of climate change. Applications for the "Climate Person of the Year" competition are accepted until September 15.
This is the fifth edition of the competition organized by the Ministry of Climate and Environment. Awards will be given to individuals who work unconventionally and innovatively for the benefit of the climate and the environment and have achieved achievements in this area.
One of the three competition categories includes young scientists (up to 35 years of age) and is open to individuals with achievements in the form of scientific publications or completed research in the areas of environmental protection, nature conservation, sustainable development, circular economy, climate protection, mitigating the effects of climate change or mitigating and adapting to climate change, energy transition, green technologies, and related fields. Furthermore, candidates should demonstrate social commitment and promote science in the aforementioned areas.
A maximum of five original scientific publications or three studies can be described in the application. The evaluation will focus on, among other things, the diversity of methods and tools used in research, the practical application of research results, including a granted domestic or foreign patent or implementation of results in another form, as well as participation in research teams (including international ones), and the social and scientific value of the work.
Competition applications can be submitted by September 15th to: [email protected]. The winner of each category will receive a cash prize of PLN 30,000. Optional honorable mentions (PLN 10,000 each) will also be awarded.
