The doctorate is a difficult period in life, and the path after its completion is often unclear. To dispel doubts, a career planning meeting "PhD – what next?" organised by the PhD Council took place last Wednesday at our Institute.
PhD students had the opportunity to listen to invited guests: Dr. Emilia Witkowska-Nery (the representative of academia) and Dr. Łukasz Richter (the representative of business), at a meeting moderated by Prof. Jan Paczesny, Deputy Director of our Institute. Such a high attendance at the meeting as over 40 of our PhD students, and numerous questions for the speakers confirm the highly positive feedback of the event. We are glad you liked the idea, and we hope the meeting helped you choose your career path!

Although the festive atmosphere of Christmas slowly fades after another piece of cheesecake, our thoughts go back to last week, when we met at a Christmas meeting of doctoral students. There was no shortage of borscht with dumplings, croquettes and a sea of ​​pierogi.
Besides food the meeting was intended to sum up this year's term of the PhD Student Council. We thank you for this year full of impressions, spent together on numerous integration events. We hope that we have met your expectations and made this year as successful as possible.

Our representatives had the opportunity to represent the PhD council of the Institute of Physical Chemistry at the 21st Congress of Delegates of the Polish National Representation of Doctoral Candidates, which takes place in Lublin on December 6-8th. 🎓

During the meeting, a new president of the KRD, the managment board and the audit committee were elected for the next year 2025. 💥

In the event participated delegates not only from Universities, but also from many Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

We are glad that we have the opportunity to actively participate in the annual congress of Polish National Representation of Doctoral Candidates and jointly set plans for the future. 📢💭.

Shine bright like our doctoral students in the Neon Museum 😍Last integration gave us some sparkle and light to brighten up the short days. Smiles are the best proof that we have discovered a remedy for the autumn blues 😁Will this proof be published in a high impact factor journal? Sounds like a perfect scenario for Christmas 😁🎄

Next month (October, 11-13th) the conference of the Rada Samorządu Doktorantów PAN will be held in our Institute! We encourage you to take part! It is an excellent opportunity to meet PhD students from other Institutes and present you results.

August is remembered in the history of Warsaw as a month of heroic struggle. Talking, of course, about the Warsaw Uprising, the 80th anniversary of which was commemorated on August 1. On the occasion of this very important date, last week students and interns from the Instytut Chemii Fizycznej PAN / Institute of Physical Chemistry of the PAS visited the Warsaw Uprising Museum, where, full of reflection and nostalgia, they listened to the stories told by the museum guide.

Last week, a group of our PhD students went on a trip in the footsteps of Polishness. First, we visited the interesting museum of Maria Skłodowska-Curie, and we summed it up with a Polish lunch in a nearby restaurant 😊
