📰 Właśnie ukazał się najnowszy artykuł naszych pracowników: dr Klaudii Ponikiewskiej i dr. hab.
Włodzimierza Strusa, prof. ucz. – we współpracy z dr. hab. Janem Cieciuchem, prof. ucz. – w
czasopiśmie Personality and Individual Differences. Publikacja nosi tytuł: „The 45-degree
difference between the personality Big Two and the temperamental Big Two”!
👤Choć temperament i osobowość często bywają traktowane jak pojęcia tożsame, istnieją
przekonujące argumenty przemawiające za ich rozróżnianiem. Wychodząc od tego, że Wielka
Dwójka, czyli dwa szerokie i najbardziej fundamentalne wymiary, została zidentyfikowana w obu tych obszarach badań, autorzy przeprowadzili systematyczne porównanie osobowościowej Wielkiej Dwójki z temperamentalną Wielką Dwójką, czyniąc to w perspektywie integrującego Kołowego Modelu Metacech Osobowości. Wyniki wskazują, że różnice między tymi Wielkimi Dwójkami odzwierciedlone są w 45° rotacji, przy czym osobowościowa Wielka Dwójka jest
zbieżna z Alfą i Betą z CPM, natomiast temperamentalna Wielka Dwójka koresponduje z Gammą i Deltą. Co więcej, osobowościowa Wielka Dwójka może być interpretowana jako przesycona
treścią zachowania, w tym specyfiką funkcjonowania społecznego i motywacyjnego, a tym samym – wydaje się raczej charakterologiczna. Temperamentalna Wielka Dwójka dotycząc zaś formalnych parametrów reakcji i zachowań, odnosi się głównie do przetwarzania negatywnych emocji oraz zapotrzebowania na stymulację. Rezultaty te wnoszą zatem nowe spojrzenie do dyskusji nad granicą między temperamentem a osobowością/charakterem, wyraźnie wskazując, że mimo podobieństw, nie należy ich ze sobą utożsamiać.

📰 The latest article by our staff members, Dr. Klaudia Ponikiewska and Prof. Włodzimierz Strus – in collaboration with Prof. Jan Cieciuch – has just been published in Personality and Individual
Differences. The publication is entitled: “The 45-degree difference between the personality Big
Two and the temperamental Big Two”.
👤 Although temperament and personality are often equated, there are convincing rationale for
their distinction. Starting from the fact that the Big Two, that is, two broad and most fundamental
dimensions, have been identified in both these research areas, the authors conducted a
systematic comparison of the personality Big Two with the temperamental Big Two using the
integrative Circumplex of Personality Metatraits as a framework. The results indicate that the
differences between these Big Twos are reflected in a 45° rotation, with the personality Big Two
converging with CPM Alpha and Beta, whereas the temperamental Big Two corresponds to
Gamma and Delta. Moreover, the personality Big Two can be interpreted as more contentrelated, particularly in terms of social and motivational functioning, and thus appears to be
rather characterological. The temperamental Big Two, by contrast, concerns formal parameters
of reactions and behaviors, referring mainly to negative emotion processing and the need for
stimulation. These results therefore offer a new perspective on the discussion of the boundary
between temperament and personality/character, clearly indicating that despite their
similarities, they should not be treated as interchangeable
