Automatyka Elektroenergetyczna (AE) obejmuje te zagadnienia nauki i techniki, które dotyczą samoczynnego sterowania procesami wytwarzania, przesyłania, rozdzielania i użytkowania energii elektrycznej. W szczególności AE obejmuje sterowanie aparaturą łączeniową, zabezpieczenie elementów systemu elektroenergetycznego oraz wizualizację i rejestrację stanów ich pracy, regulację napięcia i częstotliwości oraz przepływów mocy w systemie elektroenergetycznym. Aktualnie tradycyjne urządzenia i obwody automatyki elektroenergetycznej są zastępowane urządzeniami mikroprocesorowymi i systemami komputerowymi łączonymi w poszczególnych obiektach elektroenergetycznych w lokalne sieci komputerowe LAN realizujące zintegrowane funkcje sterowania, zabezpieczeń i monitoringu.

On November 15, 2019 (Friday) in Mechanics Building, Warsaw University of Technology room 104 o'clock 12.15 a seminar took place as part of the PES / IA IEEE section.

The speaker was Łukasz Kocewiak, PhD, with Ørsted Offshore Company (Denmark), graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology.

Title: R&D focus on electrical infrastructure solutions in offshore wind power plants

Summary: Introduction to Ørsted Offshore. Elaboration about R&D strategy and focus on development of the electrical infrastructure of systems that are the backbone of offshore wind power plants and their grid connection systems. Furthermore, presentation of ongoing activities regarding modern wind power plant systems design, construction and operation. Moreover, a brief introduction to challenges associated with the continuously increasing sizes, distances, technical complexity as well as new technology on the market and especially increasingly complex requirements from certifies and authorities was given.

The purpose of the seminar was to exchange information on current research and development projects, trends in the development of science in the field of electrical power engineering and power electronics, and experience in renewable energy.

After the lecture, there was adequate time to talk about potential cooperation between the Research and Development department of Ørsted Offshore and the Warsaw University of Technology.
