🚀 Stypendia podoktorskie MSCA 2026 – nabór zgłoszeń

Grupa Filozofii Fizyki Politechnika Warszawska zaprasza do składania zgłoszeń na Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF 2026), czyli jednego z najbardziej prestiżowych programów finansowania badań w Europie. Wybrani kandydaci będą realizować swoje projekty badawcze na naszej Uczelni.

🔬 Obszary specjalizacji grupy PW obejmują m.in. filozofię mechaniki kwantowej, filozofię fizyki czasoprzestrzeni czy filozofię kosmologii i grawitacji kwantowej. Członkowie realizują aktualnie m.in. projekt Narodowego Centrum Nauki (NCN) „Machiańskie ramy dla fizyki kwantowej”.

🔸 Kandydaci mogą liczyć na opiekę naukową i mentoring na każdym etapie przygotowania wniosku, a także wsparcie instytucjonalne w przygotowaniu wniosku i realizacji projektu. Aplikacje można składać zarówno w ramach European Fellowships (EF), jak i Global Fellowships (GF).

🚀 MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 – Call for Applications

The Philosophy of Physics Group at Warsaw University of Technology invites applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF 2026), one of the most prestigious research funding programmes in Europe. Selected candidates will carry out their research projects at our institution.

🔬The group’s areas of expertise include, among others, the philosophy of quantum mechanics, the philosophy of spacetime physics, and the philosophy of cosmology and quantum gravity. Its members are currently involved in a National Science Centre (NCN) project titled “Machian frameworks for quantum physics.”

🔸 Candidates can expect academic supervision and mentoring at every stage of proposal preparation, as well as institutional support in preparing the application and implementing the project. Applications can be submitted under both European Fellowships (EF) and Global Fellowships (GF).

We are pleased to announce that the paper “Shape Space as a Conceptual Space” by Antonio Vassallo has been published open access in Synthese. You can read the full article here: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11229-025-05040-4.

This paper argues that the configuration space central to pure shape dynamics—shape space—should be understood not as a physical arena but as a conceptual space. Drawing on insights from the philosophy of cognitive science, the article examines how this reinterpretation addresses longstanding objections to relationalism and provides a fresh epistemic framework for understanding timeless, background-independent physics. Special attention is given to how this perspective helps reconcile the relationalist ontology with the intelligibility of physical evolution.

The LanCog group at the University of Lisbon and the Philosophy of Physics group at Warsaw University of Technology are happy to announce the launch of the online Lisbon-Warsaw reading group in the philosophy of physics.


The reading group will meet on Zoom monthly to discuss newly published papers or work-in-progress drafts on timely and relevant topics. The meetings will consist of an extended Q&A session with the authors. The goal is to provide the participants with an occasion to actively engage with state-of-the-art research in the philosophy and foundations of physics.


In the first meeting, Flavio del Santo (University of Geneva) will join us to discuss his paper “Potentiality realism: A realistic and indeterministic physics based on propensities.” The meeting will be on 11 October (17:00-19:00 CEST).
