🎉 Congratulations to Prof. Karolina Krasuska 🎉
✨ Prof. Karolina Krasuska has been awarded an IDUB "Research Impulses" grant - one of very few in the humanities within this multidisciplinary call!
📚 The project, another step in her research on transnational literatures, is titled "Diasporic Networks: Reconfiguring Soviet-Born Jewish Literature in North America and Germany."
🔍 It investigates these networks through the focus on three axes: texts, culture, and geo-politics, to theorize the diasporic as linked to Jewish Soviet legacies in conversation with decolonization and post-Holocaust Jewishness that has been used to counter a narrative based on competing histories and memories.
🌍 The development of a scientific international cooperation of the PI and a UW PhD student with three top-tier senior international team members will lead, among others, to the preparation of a book proposal package (proposal plus select chapters for a prestigious press) and a public event to take place in December at the Center.
📸 The recent conference at the University of London that Prof. Krasuska co-organized with Prof. Stuart Taberner (University of Leeds), which the photo comes from, provided fundations for this project.
