We are happy to inform you that two our PhD students Karolina Urbańska and Maksym Matviyishyn have recieved the Sosabowski scholarship. Congratulations!

The aim of Karolina’s research is to employ porphyrins in the construction of 3D frameworks, in which the chromophore units are embedded on a peptide skeleton. As building blocks, said structures include porphyrin-amino acid hybrids with a direct connection through a C-N bond. An essential aspect of such direct connection is that it enables the communication between nitrogen's lone pair of electrons and the pi cloud of the chromophore, which significantly affects the optical response of the hybrid.

Max’s PhD project work consists of self-assembly studies of pyrrole-incorporating building blocks – a route to supramolecular architectures.
