History as a Weapon ✊
On 19 August 2026, the preliminary findings of the “History as a Weapon” project will be presented online. The project is led by the Emerging Threats Observatory, Prague Security Studies Institute, and NEST Institute - Inštitút pre nové bezpečnostné hrozby.

Researchers will discuss, among other topics, pro-Kremlin historical narratives present in Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia, as well as the ways in which these narratives are disseminated.

Our Professor, Dr. Jakub Bornio, representing the Instytut Studiów Europejskich Uniwersytet Wrocławski participated as one of the panelists at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdańsk.

Co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine, brought together leading international actors to strengthen support for Ukraine’s reconstruction, recovery, security, and long-term development. The conference gathered high-level participants and it is an honor to be represented by Dr. Bornio who was a part of the panel titled “From Recipients to Providers: Leveraging Ukrainian Resilience and Safeguarding Vulnerable Communities in Europe”.

We are proud to see the Institute represented in such an important international discussion.

This week, the Instytut Studiów Europejskich Uniwersytet Wrocławski had the pleasure of welcoming a guest from Kyrgyzstan — Rector Nazira Esenalieva from Ala-Too International University - AIU .

Her visit to the Uniwersytet Wrocławski was an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss future cooperation, and strengthen academic ties between our institutions.

Rector Esenalieva was greeted by Dr. Sylwia Romańska who introduced her to the Institute and our academic community. We look forward to continuing this cooperation and building new bridges between Wrocław and Kyrgyzstan.

On June 1st, we also had the honor of hosting another inspiring guest lecture at the Instytut Studiów Europejskich Uniwersytet Wrocławski. 🌍

Prof. Sharon Pardo from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev delivered a lecture on “Israeli-EU Relations”, offering valuable insights into the dynamics in EU-Israeli relations.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting the guest lecture “Geopolitics of Sports and Sports Diplomacy” delivered by Prof. Valerio Mancini at the Instytut Studiów Europejskich Uniwersytet Wrocławski, Faculty of Social Sciences UWr, Uniwersytet Wrocławski. ⚽🌍

The lecture provided valuable insights into the intersection of sports, international relations, and diplomacy, sparking engaging discussions among students and participants.
