The Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Metropolitan Campus has designed the project STEM Guided Pathway Approach (STEM-GPA), as part of its strategic development plan to redesign the university with a mission focus on completion and commitment to meet the needs of the future STEM workforce in Puerto Rico. MC’s STEM GPA services for students in STEM degrees and careers are intentionally focu

sed on and designed to close equity gaps from enrollment to completion. This is accomplished through the development of a fully guided pathway that offers high-quality STEM instruction and integrated support services. Improved, equity-minded services include more focused attention on culturally sensitive outreach and early preparation, acceleration, active learning/classroom engagement, integrated academic support, and social/personal support.
