Birzeit University (BZU) has launched the “Birzeit School of Government (BSG)” within the Faculty of Law and Public Administration (FLPA) at Birzeit University (BZU) on December 2014. The BSG is entrusted with the mission of translating academic knowledge to policy insights and debate in order to affect decision making processes at all levels. Through various programs of excellence, the BSG builds
the capacity of students and practitioners to lead in public, private and civil society sectors institutions and apply evidence-based tools and best practice to contemporary problems in the Palestinian and Arab public sectors. The BSG strives to become the center of policy debate and development in Palestine and beyond and Palestine's greenhouse of leadership in the public sector. Hence, it has assigned itself with four focal pillars:
(1) Master programs in public policy and local government;
(2) short and long term executive education that fits the demands and needs of the public sector, civil society and business;
(3) policy-oriented research; and
(4) public events platform. The vision backgrounding the above mentioned mission of the BSG revolves around imparting customized cutting-edge standards of expertise that supply the society with qualified cadres and provide it with the theoretical and technical advice required for its democratization, institutionalization and well-being.
