تواصل مؤسسة عيون على التراث، بالتعاون مع المجلس الدولي للأرشيف (International Council on Archives - ICA)، تنفيذ مشروع إنقاذ عاجل لمجموعة الشيخ محمد عواد، ضمن جهودها المتواصلة لحماية التراث الثقافي الفلسطيني المكتوب.

تواصل مؤسسة "عيون على التراث" جهودها الدؤوبة لإنقاذ التراث الثقافي لغزة والحفاظ عليه وحمايته في ظل الدمار الناتج عن الإبادة المستمرة.
يقوم فريق المؤسسة حاليًا وبتوجيه من الدكتور عبد اللطيف زكي أبو هاشم - مدير عام المؤسسة، بتنفيذ مبادرة تطوعية تركّز على إنقاذ وإسعاف الكتب والمخطوطات المتضررة في مكتبة الجامع العمري الكبير في مدينة غزة، والتي تعرضت لأضرار جسيمة خلال حرب الإبادة، فكانت المكتبة تضم نحو 20 ألف كتاب. إلا أنه بعد التدمير، لم يتبقَّ سوى حوالي 3-4 آلاف من المجموعات النادرة. ويعمل المتطوعون بعناية على انتشال الكتب المدفونة تحت الأنقاض، ومحاولة إنقاذ ما يمكن إنقاذه، وإسعاف الصفحات التي تضررت بشدة.
من خلال هذه الجهود المتفانية، تسعى المبادرة إلى حماية التراث الثقافي والأدبي والعلمي لغزة رغم الدمار الذي خلّفته الحرب.

Despite limited support and scarce resources, the “Eyes on Heritage” Foundation continues its tireless efforts to rescue, preserve, and protect Gaza’s cultural legacy amid the destruction caused by ongoing military attacks.
The foundation’s team is currently implementing a volunteer initiative focused on restoring, cleaning, and cataloguing damaged books and manuscripts at the Great Omari Mosque in City, which was heavily damaged during Israeli attacks.
Before the war, the library housed approximately 20,000 books and manuscripts. Following the strikes, however, only around 3,000- 4,000 volumes reportedly remain. Volunteers are carefully recovering materials buried under rubble, repairing worn bindings, and restoring pages that were severely damaged.
Through these dedicated efforts, the initiative seeks to safeguard Gaza’s , literary, and scientific despite the devastation inflicted by the conflict.

Preserving Palestinian history and its roots on the ancient land of Palestinian has been an ongoing project for many, but for Eyes-on-Heritage, it is publications which provide the most insight into its history. From inside the homes of old families in Gaza and among the archaeological mosques and shrines, the Eyes on Heritage Foundation has devoted itself to collecting manuscripts of Palestinian scholars, books on literature and novels, some of which have not been revealed to the public.
