With the Crossing Oceans: Digital Humanities in Dialogue conference we had simple, yet very ambitious goals: we wanted to create a space where Digital Humanities could be discussed not only as a set of tools, but as a field that actively reshapes how we investigate the past, engage the present, and imagine the future.

We wanted to organise a conference that invited us to think about how digital tools and methods can support plural approaches to history, memory, heritage, and creativity.

We wanted to make a conference that was accessible to everyone, from all over the world. And with participants from 15 different countries, including both early career and senior scholars, we think we successfully managed to do that.

Throughout the conference we could glimpse at how Digital Humanities projects are being developed worldwide, and saw many shared concerns, ideas, and methodologies. And we saw that Digital Humanities is not just a set of tools, but an active, diverse, and collaborative field.

We thank everyone who participated in the conference and hope to see you all again soon.
