The talk will present the research carried out at AffectiveLab (University of Zaragoza, Spain), covering topics ranging from tangible and multimodal interfaces to affective computing, emotion recognition, and emotional virtual agents, together with their applications in education, accessibility, healthcare, and well-being. In addition, recent work in social robotics will be presented, with a focus on affective human-robot interaction in contexts such as active ageing, intergenerational interaction, and language learning support for children.
Bio:
Sandra Baldassarri received a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, in 2004. She works at the Department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering of the University of Zaragoza, from 1996, actually as Associate Professor. She is co-PI of
the AffectiveLab, Research Group in Advanced Interfaces at the University of Zaragoza, recognized as Reference Group by the Government of Aragon. Her research interests, in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), are focused on natural and tangible interaction, emotional and multimodal interfaces, affective computing and social robotics.
