MLAG - Mind, Language, and Action Group The main goal of MLAG is to carry out research on the nature of mind, the nature of language, and the nature of action. Maria José Cantista).

The group works mostly in contemporary philosophy and in the analytic tradition. MLAG (Mind, Language, and Action Group) was founded by Prof. Sofia Miguens in 2005, building on the work on analytic philosophy done within GFMC (Gabinete de Filosofia Moderna e Contemporânea, Instituto de Filosofia da Universidade do Porto, founded in 1996 by Prof. The issues central to MLAG’s research programme makes the group’s work seek (i) a cognitive science framework, (ii) a general framework of history of 20th century philosophy, reaching to other traditions in contemporary philosophy (phenomenology, especially).
