🏆 𝗘𝗺í𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗚𝗼𝗻ç𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺 𝗼 𝗣𝗿é𝗺𝗶𝗼 𝗦. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗮 𝗖á𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹

Emília Gonçalves, estudante do Mestrado em Economia Social da Escola de Economia, Gestão e Ciência Política da Universidade do Minho, foi distinguida com o Prémio S. Martinho de Dume, atribuído pela Cáritas Portuguesa à melhor dissertação desenvolvida em áreas relacionadas com a intervenção social.

A dissertação premiada, “Envelhecer à Margem: Idosos Vulneráveis em Portugal”, orientada por Cristina Matos, analisa os desafios enfrentados pela população idosa em Portugal, contribuindo para a reflexão sobre envelhecimento, exclusão social e políticas de apoio.

O prémio resulta de uma parceria entre a Cáritas Portuguesa e a EEG, com o objetivo de promover a investigação na área da Economia Social.

A distinção inclui a publicação da dissertação em livro e a sua apresentação pública, reconhecendo a relevância científica e social do trabalho desenvolvido.

🏆 𝗘𝗺í𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗚𝗼𝗻ç𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹

Emília Gonçalves, a Master’s student in Social Economics at the School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho, has been awarded the S. Martinho de Dume Prize, presented by Caritas Portugal for the best dissertation in fields related to social intervention.

The award-winning dissertation, “Ageing on the Margins: Vulnerable Older People in Portugal”, supervised by Cristina Matos, analyses the challenges faced by the elderly population in Portugal, contributing to the discussion on ageing, social exclusion and support policies.

The prize is the result of a partnership between Cáritas Portuguesa and EEG, with the aim of promoting research in the field of the Social Economy.

The award includes the publication of the dissertation as a book and its public presentation, recognising the scientific and social relevance of the work carried out.

Oradora: Dra Elizabeth Santos- Licenciada em Sociologia pela Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra, é técnica e investigadora da EAPN Portugal – Rede Europeia Anti-Pobreza desde 2003. Entre 2003 e 2017 integrou o Departamento de Investigação e Projetos, participando em diversos estudos e iniciativas sobre pobreza e exclusão social, incluindo pobreza extrema, inclusão ativa, rendimento mínimo, migrações, entre outros. Desde 2018 faz parte da equipa fundadora do Observatório Nacional de Luta contra a Pobreza e coordena atualmente a Unidade de Investigação e Observatórios da EAPN Portugal.
