In this episode of Faculty Affairs, Carolina Santos, Assistant Professor at , explores a simple but important question: what happens between the moment we feel unwell and the moment we seek help?

As part of the Social Equity Initiative, a partnership between Nova SBE, the Fundación "la Caixa" and Banco BPI, Carolina is studying how people across Portuguese society make decisions about their health and navigate the healthcare system.

Based on a survey representative of Portuguese society, the research sheds light on the behaviours, choices and barriers that shape our journey from experiencing a health concern to seeking support from the Portuguese National Health Service (SNS).

Because understanding how people make these decisions is the first step towards building a more equitable healthcare system.
