Na Segunda Guerra Mundial, quebrar um código permitiu aos Aliados ler as comunicações alemãs e acelerar o fim do conflito. Não foi a força militar que decidiu aquele momento – foi o acesso à informação.

Oitenta anos depois, a lógica repete-se, agora à escala de satélites, drones e algoritmos. É esse o ponto de partida da keynote com que Paulo Portas abre, a 25 de junho, o Data with Purpose Summit.

In the Second World War, breaking a code allowed the Allies to read German communications and accelerate the end of the conflict. It was not military force that decided that moment – it was access to information.

Eighty years later, the logic repeats itself, now at the scale of satellites, drones and algorithms. That is the starting point of the keynote with which Paulo Portas opens the Data with Purpose Summit on 25 June.

🏆 Meet our newest national champion: Tomás Figueiredo.

Tomás, a NOVA IMS student in Information Systems and Technologies, is officially Portugal's National Triathlon Champion (Olympic Distance) – his first national title, won this weekend in Coimbra in a race that came down to the final kilometers.

1.5 km swim. 40 km bike. 10 km run. Final time: 1:50:01.

He's 19, and this first national title is the result of years of discipline – training for podiums while keeping up with university life.

Congratulations, Tomás. The whole NOVA IMS community is cheering for you – and for the families who quietly make journeys like this possible. 💙
