Nearly a month after the Lisbon 5th Symposium on Ethics and Social Responsibility Research, we want to warmly thank the participants for contributing to the success of this event.

We are also very grateful to all members of the Scientific Committee and other colleagues whose contribution have helped to ensure the scientific quality of the SESRR.
It was extremely rewarding for us to have the opportunity to meet here in Lisbon, at ISCTE-IUL, and interact with people from different backgrounds who shared their research results and professional experiences in ethics, social responsibility and sustainability issues.

Dr. David Stillwell is Lecturer in Big Data Analytics and Quantitative Social Science at Judge Business School in the University of Cambridge. He is also Deputy Director of the Psychometrics Centre.

David studies the links between big data and psychology; his research with 6 million social media users found that the computer can predict a user’s personality as accurately as their spouse can
Should this capability be used in practice, and if so under what conditions? The Facebook Cambridge Analytica scandal clearly demonstrates that the public is uneasy when they feel their data was misused, but on the other hand the public also expects their data to be used to personalise recommendations and services.

At the closing conference of the 5th Symposium on June 6 in Lisbon, he will talk about:
Big data psychometrics: Ethical dilemmas for the digital age.
This session will briefly introduce the big data psychometrics technology and will then encourage debate on its application by and within organizations.

Did you know that ...ISCTE-IUL, within the scope of its Sustainability Policy, recognises its responsibility as a higher education institution that intends to contribute actively to the SDG?
Among others, these are our main goals for 2018-2021:
*Teaching: promote the integration of sustainability contents in Curricular Units in the three study cycles;
*Research: increase research activity directed towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
