What does it take to develop clinically meaningful AI while protecting health data and maintaining trust?

Join the AISym4MED โ€“ Horizon Europe Final Event, โ€œTrustworthy AI for Healthcare: From Research to Policyโ€, on 15 October in Brussels.

A central part of the programme will be the policy roundtable, โ€œBuilding Clinically Meaningful AI: Legal and Ethical Challenges Around Data, Evidence and Accountabilityโ€. The discussion will examine how data protection, privacy-preserving technologies and clinical utility can be balanced while ensuring robust evidence, fairness, accountability and patient safety.

The event will also connect project results with current European priorities such as the AI Act and the European Health Data Space, and will create space for dialogue between research, policy and practice.

Designed for the โ€œPortuguese Lighthousesโ€ commemorative coin series (Cabo de Sรฃo Vicente), BrightCoin transforms traditional coin packaging into an interactive, collectible display. Inspired by lighthouse architecture and circular geometry, the enclosure integrates embedded electronics, USB-C charging, and automatic coin charging via pogo-pin contacts. Lifting the transparent lid triggers a soft illumination sequence that brings the coinโ€™s heritage to light.

This award reflects the power of human-centred design and multidisciplinary innovation to push the boundaries of physical and digital product experiences.

Yesterday at EWSN '26, our researcher Fernando Rego shared our team's recent research on network-aware orchestration!

Managing dynamic environments requires constant visibility. Our proposed system tackles this by using hybrid probing to build real-time network topologies. By continuously tracking key parameters like latency and throughput, it enables intelligent placement decisions while strictly preserving application QoS requirements.
