🌍 Speaker announcement - Porto Urban Greening Biennal 2026
We're excited to welcome Eva Braaksma & Remco Marcar to the Porto Urban Greening Biennal 2026, where they will present the NK Tegelwippen — the Dutch National Tile-Whipping Championship.
Held every year since 2021, NK Tegelwippen is a nationwide competition that turns de-paving into a shared, joyful challenge: residents across the Netherlands compete to lift the most paving tiles from their gardens and streets and replace them with greenery. What started as a playful idea has become a genuine climate tool, easing pressure on drainage systems, cooling neighbourhoods, and bringing communities together, one tile at a time.

🌍 Speaker announcement — Porto Urban Greening Biennal 2026
We're delighted to welcome Stefano Olivari to the Porto Urban Greening Biennal 2026, where he'll present Orti Generali, an award-winning example of community-based urban regeneration in Turin, Italy.
Orti Generali shows what happens when a neglected urban space is handed back to its community, turning it into shared gardens, food production and a genuine sense of belonging, recognised with several landscape awards along the way. A powerful case study for this year's theme, “Cultivating Communities.”

🌍 Speaker announcement — Porto Urban Greening Biennal 2026
We're pleased to welcome John Little to the Porto Urban Greening Biennal 2026.
Known for decades of hands-on, low-input, high-biodiversity planting work across the UK, John champions a simple but radical idea: that thriving urban green spaces depend less on budget and more on care, knowledge and attention. A fitting voice for a Biennial built around “Cultivating Communities.”
