The Romanian Society of Palaeontologists is a politically unattached scientific organization. It groups professionals, students and amateurs interested in palaeontology under its various aspects. It is open to everyone interested in the study of fossils, their preservation, and the preservation of the deposits that include them. It implies care for the natural environment and interhuman respect. T
he Society promotes all the aspects of scientific research that regard palaeontology, including the reconstruction of the environments where the life forms that left fossil remains or traces once lived. It is preoccupied by the spreading of knowledge on fossils or life form traces and grants assistance to everyone that might require it, including teachers and students wanting for deeper knowledge regarding diverse aspects of preserving or preparing separate specimens or palaeontological collections . The Society contributes by its activity to protecting and saving the palaeontological heritage found in collections and fossiliferous deposits, it contributes to preserving reserves and elaborating the documentation needed for the establishment of new palaeontological scientific reserves, to their better protection. By its activity, it encourages discussions and syntheses, it promotes all kinds of palaeontological activities.
