🤖 Today we're introducing Mihai Deaconu, from Sensera 🤖

Sensera is a platform meant to help pacients with facial palsy undergo rehabilitation, using Apple Vision Pro. Sensera boasts a bespoke AI model that interprets EEG scans in order to speed up and increase the accuracy of detecting various conditions such as epilepsy, benign and malignant tumors, and a slew of other neurological defects.⚕️🩺

About the speaker: Mihai is a 2nd year student at Babeș-Bolyai University, currently pursuing a Bachelors' Degree in AI and also a working student at Bosch's department of Deep Learning.

This workshop's raison d'être is to assist you in doing a deeper analysis on your individual CVs, and to present various tips & tricks to avoid the common pitfalls of the interviewing process, both from a technical and from a team perspective. 📝

Iana will be your consummate guide to this process. Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in CS, Iana is one of the leads of Google Developer Groups on Campus @ Babeș-Bolyai University. She has a keen sense of curiosity for all things data science, sociology, psychology and volunteering.

Today we're introducing Bogdan Dornean, from the London Stock Exchange Group.

The London Stock Exchange Group is one of the world's largest providers of financial markets data and infrastructure, its Romania branch alone hosting a prodigious 1,000+ employees in their Bucharest office and over 200 in Cluj-Napoca. They offer a very diverse and complete set of financial solutions and technologies, and, in his talk, Bogdan will explore the challenges that both developer and manager alike need to rise up to in order to meet the demands of the current financial landscape.

Today we're introducing Robert Szarvas, from NI (National Instruments).

In the 2010s, the development, deployment, and operation of web applications underwent a profound paradigm shift. Prior to this era, organizations often employed disparate, ad hoc methods to build and manage their applications. 🏃 The emergence of containerization, driven by technologies such as Docker, along with orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, standardized these processes and introduced a new level of efficiency and scalability to software development. 🛞 This presentation will introduce the key concepts, tools, and best practices behind Docker and Kubernetes.

About the speaker: Robert Szarvas is currently a Senior Software Engineer and Scrum Master at NI (National Instruments). Throughout the years he took part in both day-to-day managing of multiple projects and their development of them, all while also mentoring several generations of interns. He graduated from UBB in 2020. During his student years he dedicated his time to volunteering in NGOs (OSUBB and Creatori de Viitor) and teaching (Hai la Olimpiada by eMag). 🧑‍🏫

Have an app idea but don’t quite know where to begin with backend development? 🤔 Have you already gone down the true and tested path of relational databases one too many times and feel like trying something new? Well then, Mircea will have the answer for you: Firebase! In this workshop, he will introduce you to Google’s beautiful implementation of the non-relational database paradigm, and show you how its batteries-included APIs cut down on your time spent implementing the backend. ⌚📉

About the speaker: currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in CS, Mircea is one of the leads of Google Developers Group on Campus @ Babeș-Bolyai University. He started as a competitive programmer in high school, reaching the national stage of the Romanian Informatics Olympiad multiple times. In high school, he was also part of a robotics team, where he was the technical leader of the software department, working with multiple programming languages, paradigms, and sensors. Today, he’s working at Duty Ventures as a full stack developer, a remote software company.

We will also cover topics such as refining your concept, validating market potential, building a minimum viable product, and effectively pitching your idea to investors. 💵💰

About the presenter: Rareș is a 2nd year student in Computer Science at BBU Cluj-Napoca. During the last few years, he has co-founded multiple start-ups that gathered substantial investments, and mentored over 20 teams in transforming their ideas into real start-ups. Currently, he is the co-founder of an educational start-up and a core team member at GDG On Campus BBU. He's been addicted to volunteering since 2020. 💪

Today we're introducing Daniel-George Ardelean, from OpenText, who will be hosting the workshop named "Implementing a local RAG server: Empower your apps with specialized LLM's". 👨‍💻
Daniel is a 2nd year student at BBU studying Distributed Systems. He is very passionate about technology and loves learning and challenging himself to learn as much as possible.📈
There's no denying that LLM's are the current hot topic, everybody uses them. In this workshop he would like to tackle a simple improvement to the classic self-hosting of a LLM, a RAG server.🌐
A RAG server is a fancy way of creating our very own "fine-tuned" LLM by storing a context with various information we want the LLM to highly take in consideration when asking questions that are in that area of interest.📝
