"Hello! 👩🏼🦱
I’m 𝐉𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚, from 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 and I‘ve been lucky to have participated in the Erasmus program in 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐣 𝐍𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐚, 𝐑𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚. I stayed there for 5 months, unfortunately just when I arrived (end of September) Rumania was just hitting a coronavirus wave so there were several restrictions that preclude hanging out as usual. Anyway, bars and restaurants still opened until 9, and we discovered a couple of quite cool places that are “still open“ despite all the restrictions.
Also, I’ve never traveled that much before, I think I took almost 10 flights: to Italy, Hungary, Turkey, Poland, Bulgary... And the best thing is that my Erasmus friends were always ready to travel too.
I study 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦, so as the lessons, my experience was not very good because due to the coronavirus, a hundred percent of the bachelor classes were online, so I don’t really feel that I’ve learned as much as I would have liked.
At the same time, this was an advantage to travel because I had all the time I wanted to go abroad while I carried my laptop or tablet with me and had internet connexion.
My favorite part of the Erasmus experience was 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝. I strongly believe that living this type of experience makes people more open-minded and is necessary to avoid xenophobic behaviors and radical nationalisms that divide us. Meeting people of a lot of different nationalities definitely made me feel that the world was "𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑠𝑜 𝑏𝑖𝑔", I removed the fear of traveling far away from my hometown and I’ll definitely do it in the future after this experience that I recommend to everybody."
