📕 1564 - the first Russian printed book "Apostle" was published. It is the first dated printed book in Russia, printed by Ivan Fedorov and Peter Mstislavets.

🗺 1710 - the first printed textbook on geography in Russian was published. The title of the first textbook was "Geography or a brief description of the earthly world." It was presumably translated from Dutch.

The first thing that catches your eye when you look at Anadyr is the color scheme of the city. Architects and urbanists argue that bold color schemes «enhance urban scenarios». Of course, they are not able to defeat the crackling frosts, storms and frequent hurricanes, but against the background of surreal multi-colored cubism, all these unpleasant natural phenomena really look more optimistic. They began to paint houses with bright colors under the governor Roman Abramovich.

Anadyr became the first «color» project of Sergei Ilyshev and Vladimir Yudanov from the Yo-programma design studio. The State Hermitage in cooperation with the museum «Republic of Cats» founded it in order to ensure pets to be legally entrenched in cultural institutions. This Day in History: March 1

Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev (1834-1907) published his first periodic table of the elements on March 1, 1869.

Like many scientists working at the end of the 19th-century Dmitri Mendeleev was looking for ways to organise the known elements.

Mendeleev arranged the elements in order of increasing relative atomic mass. When he did this he noted that the chemical properties of the elements and their compounds showed a periodic trend. He then arranged the elements by putting those with similar properties below each other into groups.

At first the periodic system did not raise interest among chemists.
However, with the discovery of the predicted elements, it began to win wide acceptance. Gradually the periodic law and table became the framework for a great part of chemical theory. By the time Mendeleev died in 1907, he enjoyed international recognition and had received distinctions and awards from many countries.
