International Department
History of International department of ASU started in 1992 when the University began to give Russian lessons to foreign people as students at the University auditoriums. Henceforth, foreign students and nations, who come to Russia, have the opportunity to study Russian language as a foreign language, which is a prerequisite to studying at ASU. Nowadays about 150 foreign c
itizens from Nigeria, Chad, Turkey, Sudan, Israel, Syria, USA, France and other countries study at different faculties at Adygh State University. The University has working partnership with Qualiworld Investment Limited; with Administration of Education department in Nigeria; Circassion Association in Jordan, in Turkey, and Israel. Furthermore, Adyghe State University collaborates with Peking Technological University (China), Hanoi University (Vietnam), Akdeniz University and Afyon Kojatepe University (Turkey), William Patterson University (USA), Massarik University (Cheque Republic), Du Mein (France), Geidelbergsky University (Germany), State Natural Museum (Germany, Gerlitz), International Linguistic Center SIRL INTERNATIONAL (Germany), International Association of Universities (Austria) and other big international centers. The department is further staffed by qualified teachers who have passed through advanced training at People's Friendship University in Moscow; the leading Institution in the foreign students’ training. With the course of time ASU is gaining more international recognition, especially since the coming under structuring arms of UNESCO in 2007, and still the University seeks to strengthen its abroad relationship. Students, who have taken the Russian-language programme, successfully passed its grades and wished to continue their study at the University, are carefully admitted all over various departments like Economics, Law, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Sciences, Foreign Languages, Sport and Judo, and many others. Over a period of successive years, tremendous growth in Cultural Interchange has been expanded. Every year the University's folk dance group takes part in an International Student Festival. Very often delegates from Israel, Korea, Jordan, USA, Serbia, Canada, Austria, Germany, France visited the Adygh State University. Between 2008-2011, five teachers and three students from the Faculty of Art took part in an international concert in Spain and Bulgaria, while students from the Faculty of Physical Education and Judo participated in International Sport Competition in Turkey, China, and Greece. Students of ASU take part in different international cultural exchange programmes like Au Pair, Work and Travel, Internship (USA, France, Germany), PEP (USA, Great Britain), IREX, Fulbright, and DAAD. Professors, teachers and postgraduate students are active participants in the international educational programs DAAD, Fulbright, and IREX. Russian for Foreigners

There are 1500 computers at the university; every computer class is connected by local Internet on the basis of various technologies. Adyghe State University comprises 2 institutes (Institute of Arts, Physical Training and Judo Institute). Library of Adyghe State University is recognized as one of best equipped in Russia. After a simple registration process you can borrow from the network of libraries. In total there are around 1000 reader places and over 300.000 books and journals there. A full range of audio-visual equipment provides alternative learning media. Each library has enquiry points where you can ask for help in using the library and facilities. There are 2 canteens and 3 cafes with capacity of 550 students. There is a sanatorium (resort place) “Zdorovie” (Health), poliklinika, bases for rest (“Nart” in Anapa, “Maykop” in Gelendzhik, “Gornaya Legenda” in Maykop area). There are centers for children’s intellectual development, computer training “Turbo”, Republican school of Physics and Mathematics at Adyghe State University. The school of Physics and Mathematics represented Russian education progress in Mathematics and other educational programs at the 10th International Congress in Mathematics in Copenhagen resent years. There are several museums, scientific research centers and laboratories, agricultural and biological stations, cultural and fitness centers at University. Accommodation
University provides good conditions of living for the students and teaching staff. There are 3 hostels with good facilities. All of our hostels are within easy walking distance of the school and the city centre, therefore minimizing travel costs. We are normally able to obtain preferential rates and discounts for our students. All the accommodation we use have looked after our students before and so whichever level you choose, we are confident that you will be comfortable. We have a simple philosophy – to provide high quality higher education and accommodation at very competitive prices. Foreign students activities. Foreign students take part in different cultural and social programmes of the University and the City. For example, University Festivals, Beauty Contests, Weeks of Foreign Languages and Cultures, local sport competitions and other different competitions and contests. We glad to invite students to the excursion around the City, to see the nature of the Northern Caucasus, and the other places of interest. We celebrate Russian and international holidays together, students arrange concerts to present the traditions and customs of their world to the Russian students. Adyghe State University arranges accommodation for you and social programme, which is a lively plan of activities after classes - including excursions to places of interest and various evening social events where they can practice their Russian and Adyghe languages with teachers, fellow students and locals, provides excursions to the mountains and caves and arranges trips to the seaside (Anapa, Gelendzhik).
